These topics were explained in a presentation, along with a summary of the community input received to date, and an explanation of low stress facility types, such as neighborhood greenways and protected bike lanes. Twenty-six people attended the open house. Presentation Connie Reckord (MR) and David Saxen (MR) pre- sented an approximately 20-minute long Power- Point show covering the following topics: • Project Review -Overview -Project schedule & public outreach • Summary of Community Input • Plan Components -Network Hierarchy -Facility Types -Intersections September 28, 2017 6:00 – 8:00 PM Renton Community Center Workshop and Discussion Participants were encouraged to record addition- al comments on hard-copy drafts of the Regional Trail options, Trail and Bicycle Network and Critical Intersections. Presentation Comments and Questions • Will Renton consider getting a bike share pro- gram? This should be in the plan. • Wayfinding is important because it is difficult to find your way through the city to different trails and routes. • Tough for commuter cyclists to route-find. • Hope that the plan will result in digital route maps and GPS data that bicyclists can use. • Important for trails to have identity. Spray paint on trails? • Relying on the sidewalk to ride a bicycle is atro- cious because of plants. Better maintenance is needed. • Many sidewalks are not ADA accessible. • Lake Washington Loop Trail will be designed by the city, but the regional trails will be designed by King County. • What is the status of the Honey Creek Trail and May Creek Trails?
