The City of Renton invites interested and qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for the following project:
TITLE: RENTON CITY HALL – HR TENANT IMPROVEMENTS
ESTIMATED BASE BID COST: $350,000 excluding WSST.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE: 1:00 PM. January 11, 2023. Meet in Renton
City Hall Lobby. Attendees will be escorted
to the 7th floor. Attendance at the pre-bid
conference is highly encouraged but is not
mandatory.
SUBMITTAL TIME/DATE/LOCATION: Prior to 2:00 P.M. February 1, 2023 Bids must be hand delivered to:

The work, to be substantially completed from the date of commencement under this contract, but shall not
exceed a Substantial Completion date of 120 days following Notice To Proceed; shall include, but not be
limited to: Interior tenant improvement to SE corner of 7th floor. Project consists of upgrade of interior
finishes to include floor finishes, casework, ceilings and addition of break room, secure file room, front
reception area and conference rooms, to include Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing additions as required
for the City of Renton, Washington, all as shown and described on the Contract Documents prepared by
MacKenzie Inc., dated, January 3, 2023.
Bid documents will be available January 3, 2023. Plans and specifications may be viewed on the City of
Renton website via the following link City of Renton - Call For Bids and at Builder’s Exchange of
Washington. Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders
List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking
on "Posted Projects", "Public Works", and "City of Renton". This online plan room provides Bidders with
fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from

numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders
“Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on
the “Self-Registered Bidders List". Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda
and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. Contact
Builders Exchange of Washington at (425) 258-1303 should you require assistance with access or
registration.

Document clarification questions must be submitted in writing no later than 1:00p.m. January 25, 2023.
The City’s fair practices/non-discrimination policies and the State of Washington prevailing wage rates are
applicable for this public works project located in King County. Bidders are responsible to verify and use the
most recent prevailing wage rates. The “Effective Date” for this project is the Bid Form due date above. The
applicable prevailing wage rates may be found on the Department of Labor & Industries website located at
https://lni.wa.gov/licensing-permits/public-works-projects/prevailing-wage-rates/.
A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid must accompany each bid. The City reserves
the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in bids received. The City’s
Fair Practices and Non-Discrimination policies and State Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this project.
Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction
contract. Voluntary workforce diversity goals for this apprentice participation are identified in the
Instructions to Bidders. Bidders may contact the Department of Labor & Industries, Apprenticeship Section,
to obtain information on available apprenticeship programs.
Bids shall be in a sealed envelope marked “RENTON CITY HALL – HR TENANT IMPROVEMENTS”.
