From:Larry Reymann To:Jennifer Cisneros Cc:Chip Vincent Subject:Re: Virtual Public Hearing: Kennydale Gateway Date:Tuesday, January 31, 2023 6:38:12 PM Hi Jennifer, Thanks for the update. I'm a Parks Board Commissioner and we have a meeting that day that runs from 4:30 - 6pm at City Hall. Haven't seen our agenda yet, but we usually end up pretty punctually @6:00. Not sure from your agenda how the K.G. session will begin, but there's a whole lot to cover in an hour. Not especially skilled technologically, but maybe I could check in on my phone on the way home and switch to my computer, as long as being present on the phone doesn't block access to the meeting with the computer. Would zoom allow that? Do you have any suggestions? Can you share more detail on how the hearing is structured than the agenda offers? We're especially focussed on impacts to the May Creek natural area, and increased traffic via the new south entrance from the KG property. Scanning some of the 76 pages of your report, we'd hope for more involvement from the applicant with specifically restoring the salmon runs as well as habitat, which is already in good condition. We are particularly interested in environmental educational opportunities mentioned in the report that the Stakeholders would support. How will higher volume untreated stormwater into the drain on the east side of the Boulevard that directly enters May Creek be managed other than "required landscaping"? Two basic measures responding to higher density/traffic would be trash receptacles that are regularly emptied and steps to mitigate dog park canine activities from guests and others that already heavily impact the banks of the Creek, especially when salmon might be in the Stream. We appreciate respect for the cultural, historical, and indigenous heritage this area represents and the proposal expresses. We strongly advocate that the history and presence of the First Nations, who live, and have lived here from time immemorial be conspicuously recognized in the design and presentation of the Kennydale Gateway Project. Thank you for your time and consideration, Jennifer, please advise. Afishionately, CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton.
