If the following described work affects the Contract sum or Contract time, the Contractor shall submit a proposal for
review and approval by the Architect prior to proceeding with the work.
Description: Revision to pavement section at existing asphalt parking lot.
Reason: Due to deteriorated conditions of the existing asphalt surfacing within the parking lot, the grind and
overlay section originally proposed was deemed inappropriate for the current conditions. An alternate proposal to pulverize the existing asphalt surfacing in place, compact, and then overlay with
new HMA surfacing was discussed with the COR CED on February 16, 2023 who agreed and noted that this alternate parking lot resurfacing method would be acceptable and still considered
"maintenance" per the 2020 memo included in the project TIR. No pulverized asphalt will be removed from the parking lot area.
Cost: Provide costs repaving the parking lot per the revised pavement section detail and notes in the attached ASI sketch.
