SUMMARY OF ACTION:
The Rainier Avenue South (SR 167) — South Grady Way to South 2nd Street Project started onApril 29,
2012 and was physically completed on February 11, 2014. However, there was a 1-year plant
establishment period, which ended on February 11, 2015. The original construction contract total was
$16,032,772.44. The final contract total was $17,425,479.31, which is an increase of $1,392.706,87. The
increase in cost is summarized in the attached list of change orders.
Because this is a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) funded project, retainage was not withheld
because it is prohibited by FHWA regulations; therefore, there is no retainage to release.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approve completion of the Rainier Avenue South (SR 167) — South Grady Way to South 2nd Street
Project; initiate closeout of the project; release performance bond.
