Notice to Bidders: The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries provided conflicting informal opinions that workers performing services for this contract could be classified as Truck Driver/ Other Truck and Landscape Maintenance Worker or Laborer/Nozzleman. The City of Renton requires payment of prevailing wages for this contract, but defers to the Contractor to determine the correct trade classification based upon the work of each employee providing services under the contract. The Contractor bears all risks of properly classifying its workers to Labor and Industries’ satisfaction and bids should be made based upon that risk. However, the City reserves the right to reject all bids and/or terminate the contract early for any reason, including but not limited to a revised opinion from Labor & Industries that (a) prevailing wages are not required, or (b) a classification with a lower rate is applicable (e.g. landscape maintenance worker or parking lot/street sweeper). By submitting this Bid Proposal, the below entity agrees to enter into a contract in the form of the enclosed draft contract with the City of Renton, if selected to provide the services described therein, in accordance with the pricing provided in the blanks above.
