WWP-27-03921 ADDENDUM NO. 1 Date of Addendum Issue: April 6, 2023 Due Date for Bids: 2:00 pm on April 13, 2023 Date of Bid Opening: 3:00 pm on April 13, 2023 To: ALL PLAN HOLDERS AND/OR PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS The following changes, additions, and/or deletions are hereby made a part of the project bid documents for the Thunder Hills Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project and shall have the same effect as if set forth therein. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt and acceptance of this Addendum No. 1 by signing in the space provided below and submitting the signed addendum with the bid package. Failure to acknowledge receipt of this Addendum may result in your bid proposal being disqualified. BID SCHEDULE 1. DELETE Schedule of prices REPLACE with attached Schedule of Prices: Items changed in attached Schedule of Prices: • Deleted Item A19 in Schedule of Values and replaced with the following: • Deleted unit of measurement for Items A33 and A34 and replaced with Square Yards per the following: Thunder Hills Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation April 6, 2023 Page 2 of 3 Addendum No. 1 SPECIAL PROVISIONS 2. DELETE 1-09.14(2)S and Replace with the following: 1-09.14(2)S Plug/Cap and Abandon Existing Sanitary Sewer Main over 10-Inch Diameter (Bid Item 19) Section 1-09.14(2)S is a new section: (******) Measurement for “Plug/Cap and Abandon Existing Sanitary Sewer Main over 10-Inch Diam.” will be per each plug/cap installed. Payment for “Plug/Cap and Abandon Existing Sanitary Sewer Main over 10-Inch Diam.” will be made at the amount bid per each, which payment will be complete compensation for all labor, equipment, materials, hauling, pavement cutting, pavement removal, excav ation, dewatering, locating all existing utilities and potholing in advance for horizontal and vertical location, removal and disposal of waste material including existing pipes and structure in excavation, plugging/capping the ends of sewer mains to be abandoned with 3,000 psi cement concrete, stockpile and placement of subsequent backfill (native) materials, compaction, water, grading, cleaning, pavement restoration, etc. required to complete all abandonment work in conformance with the Contract Documents. Select imported backfill materials are included in other bid items (See Bid item 24). 3. DELETE the paragraphs of section 7-17.3(2)I and REPLACE with the following: Where it is shown on the plans that existing sanitary sewer pipe(s) is to be abandoned, existing sanitary sewer pipe is to be left in place. by filling with grout, both The ends of the abandoned pipe and all lateral connections to the pipe shall be plugged/capped with 3,000 psi cement concrete. Plug/cap shall extend a minimum length of 12-inches into the abandoned pipe. and the pipe shall be filled with cement-based grout. The grout mix design and method of installation shall be approved by the Engineer prior to beginning the operation (See Section 9-03.22 for Grout Mix requirements). 4. ADD section 9-05.23 per the following: 9-05.23 High Density Polyethylene Piping Section 9-05.23 is supplemented with the following: (******) The joints shall be welded by butt fusion only, by operators who have successfully completed a butt fusion training course sponsored by the pipe manufacturer. A written copy of such training certification shall be provided to the Engineer. Bead projections on the inside of the pipe shall be removed. All personnel directly involved with installing HDPE pipe shall receive training for handling and installing HDPE pipe in accordance with AWWA M-55. Pipe and fittings shall be carefully examined for cracks, gouges, cuts, discontinuities, or other defects immediately before installation and all defective pipe and fitt ings shall be removed.
