CALL TO ORDER
The Human Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) meeting for February 21, 2023 was called to order at
3:07 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS
a) Welcome and introductions for new Human Services Advisory Committee members.
Guy Williams, Human Services Manager, welcomed new HSAC members. HSAC members and
staff introduced themselves to the group. Guy Williams reminded HSAC of youth member
vacancy.
b) Presentation from Ukrainian Community Center of Washington - Oleg Pynda, Executive
Director
Oleg Pynda, Executive Director for the Ukrainian Community Center of Washington provided a
presentation on two programs the City of Renton is currently funding, the Refugee Assistance
Program and Crisis Family Intervention.
c) Review HSAC Mission statement and Committee's Bylaws.
Guy Williams briefed new members on HSAC mission statement and the Committee’s bylaws.
d) Review Renton's Business Plan and Legislative Agenda.
Guy Williams briefly reviewed the City of Renton 2023-2028 Business Plan and Legislative
Agenda.
e) Update on Renton’s Overnight Emergency Cold Weather Shelter
Guy Williams informed HSAC of Renton’s Overnight Emergency Cold Weather Shelter
activation from February 22-25. HSAC members were concerned about equitable resources
for shelter information amongst the community. Lori Fleming, Human Services Coordinator,
explained the notification process and King County Regional Homelessness Authority provides
shelter information in several languages.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 3:54 p.m.
The next Renton Human Services Advisory Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
March 21, 2023 at 3:00 pm via Zoom or in person.
