REMOVE EXISTING CONFLICTING STRIPING AS NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATE NEW STRIPING. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE STRIPING REMOVAL WITH ASPHALT RESTORATION AND OVERLAY WORK. 2. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTALLING ALL SIGNS AND CHANNELIZATION PER CITY OF RENTON STANDARDS, CURRENT EDITION. CONTRACTOR SHALL LAYOUT ALL SIGNS AND CHANNELIZATION, AND THEN CONTACT THE ENGINEER 48-HOURS IN ADVANCE OF INSTALLATION TO VERIFY LAYOUT. 3. CONTRACTOR SHALL PRUNE ALL VEGETATION IN CONFLICT WITH SIGNS TO ENSURE UNOBSTRUCTED VISIBILITY TO DRIVERS. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE AND SUBMIT TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS TO TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS TRAFFIC OPERATIONS AT LEAST THREE (3) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO ANY ROADWORK. 6. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO SECURE ALL NECESSARY PERMITS PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION. (INSPECTION WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF RENTON). IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF BACKFILLING ALL CONSTRUCTION. 5. CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MEANS, METHODS AND SEQUENCES OF CONSTRUCTION AND FOR THE SAFETY OF WORKERS AND OTHERS ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE. 6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO OBTAIN STREET USE AND ANY OTHER RELATED PERMITS PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION. 7. PLANS APPROVED BY PUBLIC WORKS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL OTHER PLANS. 8. A COPY OF THESE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS. 9. ALL UTILITY TRENCHES SHALL BE BACKFILLED AND COMPACTED TO 95°o MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY MODIFIED PROCTOR. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE MATERIALS SUBMITTALS AND POLE SHOP DRAWINGS TO THE CITY OF RENTON FOR APPROVAL AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE. 11. AS PART OF THE DESIGN PROCESS, THE ENGINEER HAS ATTEMPTED TO CONFIRM THAT THERE ARE NOT CONFLICTS WITH OVERHEAD POWER LINES OR SUBSURFACE UTILITIES. HOWEVER, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE EXISTING OR PROPOSED CONDITIONS TO CHANGE PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SCOPE OF WORK IDENTIFIED ON THESE DOCUMENTS. AS THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL POTHOLE EACH POLE LOCATION TO CONFIRM THAT THERE ARE NOT CONFLICTS WITH SUBSURFACE UTILITIES. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFIRM THAT THERE IS A MINIMUM 10-FT CLEARANCE PROVIDED BETWEEN OVERHEAD POWER LINES AND THE PROPOSED LUMINAIRE POLES PRIOR TO POLE PLACEMENT. ADDITIONAL CLEARANCE MAY BE REQUIRED AS DIRECTED BY THE UTILITY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY IF A CONFLICT IS DISCOVERED.
