Re: Cedar River Apartments, LUA19-000161
Dear Vanessa, Matt, and Clark:
Thank you for our meeting earlier this year regarding the shoreline substantial development
permit (“SSDP”) for the Cedar River Apartments project (“Project”). SRM Renton LLC has
applied for building permits to construct Phase I and Phase II of the Project, which includes all
improvements subject to the SSDP. As discussed, SRM is not anticipated to obtain those
building permits until January 2024.
In accordance with WAC 173-27-090(4) and RMC 4-9-190.J.9., the two-year duration of the
SSDP does not include the time needed to obtain other permits for the Project. Thus, it is our
understanding that the SSDP will be effective for two years following issuance of the building
permits. We also understand that WAC 173-27-090(2), and RMC 4-9-190.J.6. allows for
potential extension of the SSDP for a third year subject to certain conditions.
We understand this letter will be placed in the SSDP file for the Project to memorialize our prior
discussion. Please let me know if you require anything further from SRM.
