Greg and Abe,
At your request I visited 2117 NE 6th Place in Renton, WA today to measure three stump diameters for
trees recently cut down.
Tree
No.
Species Species scientific Stump
Diameter
Diameter Standard
Height
1 Undetermined, likely
pear
Pyrus. sp 16.5” 16”
2 White birch Betula papyrifera 15” 15”
3 Ponderosa pine Pinus ponderosa Ground out ~20”
The stumps for trees No. 1 and 2 stand about 2.5-feet tall. I measured diameters at that point and
adjusted to DSH (54” above ground). Tree No. 3 was ground out to below ground level.
Tree No. 2, the birch was about 1/3 dead at the top ( Google Earth Photo). Tree No. 1 was without
decay but had multiple stems above 6-feet in height. There were no leaves present to confirm the
species of Tree No. 1. I estimated the diameter of tree No. 3 based on the chip pile and the height of
the tree from pre-removal photos. I have attached photos of the stumps and tree No. 2.
Let me know if you need anything more.
