Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the project LUA23-000189
located at 2101 Maple Valley Hwy. Based on the information provided and our
understanding of the project and its APE, we have no substantive comments
to offer at this time. However, please be aware that if the scope of the project
or the parameters for defining the APE change, we reserve the right to modify
our current position. The project location is within a mile of archaeological site
KI-00686 according to the DAHP WISAARD website. The WISAARD predictive
model indicates that an archaeological survey is highly advised with a very high
risk of encountering cultural resources. However due to previous
development, the Tribe would accept an IDP (inadvertent discovery plan)
during excavation. We request that if any archaeological work or monitoring is
performed, we would like notification. Cultural and archaeological resources
are non-renewable and are best discovered prior to ground disturbance. The
Tribe would also like the opportunity to be present if or when an archaeologist
is on site in the event that an artifact or cultural resource is encountered.
