ED46967 CASE# 23-3515 OF COLLISION 03/28/23 11:28 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE 23-3515 On 03/28/2023 at approximately 1135 hours, I was dispatched to an unknown-if-injury vehicle collision JSO the intersection at SW 7th Street and SW 7th ST, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, Officer R. Phillips had contacted the involved drivers and had requested Renton Regional Fire Authority (RRFA) respond for a precautionary evaluation. While on scene, I collected each involved party's driving documents and independent involvement leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1 stated she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and was traveling southbound in about the 800 block of Lind Ave SW JSO SW 7th ST. The driver of Unit#1 stated she was intending to turn into the DK Market parking lot and therefore stopped in lane 2 of 2 to yield to traffic prior to making a left-turn across traffic. The driver of Unit#1 stated that proceeded to turn across traffic when she claims that Unit#2 began pulling out of the driveway causing both vehicles to collide. As a result, Unit#1 suffered minor damage to the front driver's side of Unit#1. The driver of Unit#2 said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was traveling westbound through the private property parking lot located on the east side of the roadway. The driver of Unit#2 stated he stopped his vehicle at the intersecting roadway of Lind Ave SW where he remained stopped with the intent to turn south onto Lind Ave SW. While stopped and yielding to traffic, the driver of Unit #2 stated he saw Unit#1 approaching the same driveway he was stopped at from the north. The driver of Unit#2 stated that Unit#1 appeared to be making a left turn into the same parking lot Unit#1 was exiting from. The driver of Unit#2 stated that while making its turn, Unit#1 lost control of the vehicle and turned into the driver's side doors of Unit#2 causing significant damage. Based on the above statements, 1 determined that each statement from the respective driver was different and conflicted one another. I noticed a surveillance camera in the parking lot and have requested any available footage. I encouraged both involved parties to contact their respective insurance companies. Unit#1 was able to be driven away from the scene without further incident while Unit#2 had to be impounded from the scene due to extensive damage.
