July 29. 1982.
GENERAL CONSTRUCT/ON NOTES
1. A preconstruction conference with City of Renton personnel will be
required prior to starting construction.
2. All work and materials shall be in conformance with the standards
and specifications of the City of Renton Utility Department and the
latest edition of -the A.P.W.A. Standard Plans and Specifications.
3. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to obtain street use
and other related permits prior to any construction in City or County
right-of-way.
4. A copy of this plan must be on -site whenever construction is in
progress.
5. Approximate locations of existing utilities have been obtained from
available records and are shown for convenience. The contractor shall
be responsible for verification of locations shown and for discovery
of possible additional utilities not shown, so as to avoid damage or
disturbance.
6. No final cut slope shall exceed 1:1 (horiz.:vert.) without stabili-
zation by rockery (not to exceed 8') or by retaining wall.
7. No final embankment slope shall exceed 2:1 (horiz.:vert.) without
stabilization by rockery (not to exceed 8') or by retaining wall.
8. All earthwork under paving shall be compacted to minimum 95% density
per A.S.T.M. D-1557-70 (modified Proctor).
9. All disturbed surfaces shall be seeded unless other landscaping/
erosion control measures are employed. Grass seeding will be done
using an approved type hydroseeder or as otherwise approved by the
City of Renton. Grass sod may be substituted for hydroseeding.
10. Inlets and Grates:
A. All inlets shall be A.P.W.A. Type IV-C precast curb inlet per
drawing No. 59.
B. All grates shall be Olympic Foundry No. 5435 A, ductile iron,
or equal.
11. Storm Sewer Pipe:
A. All 8" diameter storm drain conveyance pipe and 12" diameter
culvert pipe to be helical corrugated metal pipe (2-2/3 X 1/2"
corrugation), 16 gauge aluminum or galvanized steel. Steel
pipe shall be asphalt coated (treatment 1 or better).
12. All pipe bedding shall be A.P.W.A. Class 'C'. All trench backfill
shall be compacted to minimum 95"- density per A.S.T.M. D-1557-70.
13. Relocate the following existing items to the back of new sidewalk
or outside edge of asphalt:
1. Fire hydrant - 1 each
Poll 2. Water Service Meter - 1 each
3. Mail Box Standard - 4 each
14. Adjust existing fire hydrant valve box to final grade as required.
