NOTES 5 SPECIFICATIONS F'OP STORY DRAINS:
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR
MUNICIPAL PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION" PREPARED 5Y WASHINGTON STATE CHAPTER
AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION, 1981 (APWA) AND CITY OF RENTON STANDARDS.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN,, TEMPORARY SEDIMENTATION/COLLECTION FACIL-
ITIES TO INSURE THAT SEDIMENT LADEN WATER DOES NOT ENTER NATURAL DRAINAGE
SYSTEM. THESE FACILITIES MUST BE IN OPERATION PRIOR TO CLEARING AND CONSTRUC-
TION AND MUST BE MAINTAINED UNTIL CONSTRUCTION AND LANDSCAPING ARE COMPLETED
AND THE POTENTIAL FOR ON -SITE EROSION HAS PASSED.
3. ALL LOCATIONS Or EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE AND IT SHALL BE THE
CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE TRUE AND CORRECT LOCATION SO AS TO
AVOID DAMAGE OR DISTURBANCE.
4. A PRECONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE AND A 24 HOUR NOTICE SHALL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO
STARTING NEW CONSTRUCTION. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO
SECURE ALL NECESSARY PERMITS PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION. (INSPECTION WILL
BE ACCOMPLISHED BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF RENTON.) IT SHALL BE THE
CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT 24 HOURS IN
ADVANCE OF BACKFILLING ALL CONSTRUCTION.
5. STOR," DRAIN PIPE SHALL BE CONCRETE, RUBBER GASKETED ASTM C14, CL. 2 OR ASTM
C-76-11.
6. BEDDING FOR STORM DRAIN PIPE SHALL BE CLASS "B" PER APWA STANDARD PLAN NO. 62
(PEA GRAVEL FROM 4 INCHES BELOW PIPE TO SPRINGLIKE FOR PIPES 27 INCHES AND
SMALLER AND FROM 6 INCHES BELOW PIPE TO SPRINGLINE FOR PIPES 30 INCHES AND
LARGER.)
TRENCH WIDTH SHALL BE 40 INCH MINIMUM OR 1-1/2 TIMES THE PIPE DIAMETER PLUS 18
INCHES WHICHEVER IS GREATER. BACKFILL SHALL BE PLACED EQUALLY ON BOTH SIDES
OF THE PIPE IN 6 I!CH LAYERS COMPACTED TO 95" OF MAXIMUM DENSITY.
8. CATCH BASIN NOS. 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 6 SHALL BE APWA STANDARD PLAN NO. 52, TYPE
I-C. CATCH BASIN NO. 5 SHALL BE APWA STANDARD PLAN NO. 55 TYPE II-C. ALL
CATCH BASINS SHALL HAVE APWA STANDARD PLAN NO. 49 FRAME AND GRATE. CATCH
