Power source shall be from an existing street lighting control panel at
Stevens Place S.W. and S.W. 5th Court.
2. Add one (1) 20 AMP, 240 V breaker to the existing panel and identify and
label, "Circuit 7". Note: The actual load connection shall be initiated
by the contractor in coordination with PSP&L. Contact CHG prior to
installation.
Connect 2 - #8 THW copper conductors to the load side of the breakers.
Connect a #8 copper ground to the ground buss and pull the three wires
into the 1-112" existing conduit containing 4 #8 and 1 #8 ground wires.
This conduit will be the one connecting to the existing pole #9 and then
to pole 4 at Maple Avenue S.W.
4. Intercept the existing conduit between poles 4 and 5, at a point closest
to pole 4. (See Drawing El of Cross Engineers) Cut the conduit, and
after disconnecting wiring in pole #4 base, pull wiring back to "cut"
location and install two factory "L's". Install a Type "B" junction box
at this location as shown on the plans as J.B. #1. From this junction
box also install a 1-1/2" conduit to the existing Maple Avenue S.W.
crossing, and J.B. #2 (to be installed by this contract) as shown on the
plans. The three #8 wires brought from the "street lighting control
panel" (note 1 above) will now enter this contract's conduit system and
be installed according to plans to the termination pole (24) located on
Hardie Avenue. See Note 16 below.
5. All disconnections at pole 4 (note 4 above) shall be connected
immediately so that the existing lighting system will function without
interruption.
6. Conduit shall be 1-1/2" PVC schedule 40 except for street crossing which
will be 1-1/2" galvanized steel. Crossings shall be jacked, pushed or by
gopher.
7. Street Light - 150 W., H.P. sodium, 240 volts, medium non-cutoff/Type III
distribution (field adjustable), power door type construction, drop lens
type. Y
8. Provide 25', tapered aluminum, davit type poles per City of Renton
Standard.
9. Contractor is cautioned to use care in trenching as PSP&L underground is
in the same vicinity as shown on the plans. PSP&L is 36" + or - under
ground and this contract calls for 24" cover. The Maple Avenue crossing
location is approximate as are all conduit details as shown on plans.
All utility work involved should be coordinated by the contractor with
PSP&L and PNWB before trenching, pushing or pole base excavation is
initiated.
1<<. Junction boxes shall be Type "B". See City of Renton Standard.
11. Poles shall have 8' mast arms.
12. Locate pole bases at sidewalk per details.
4
7 142
13. Street Light Reference Numbers: Provide standard wattage identification
decals for each luminaire (i.e., 15' designates 150 watt lamp).
14. Pole I.J. numbers shall be installed as shown on the plans and
shall be approximately 121 above curb. ?Atters and, rumber
shall be 31' hiGh and apnliec? as Pather_-ror'?f; ref??rtive
decals as approved by the C-ty of Renton.
15. Locations shall be staked in field by Engineer.
16. At contractor's option, in lieu of pulling 2 #8's in existing
conduit, may install a new 1-1/2" PVC, Schedule 40 conduit
behind S/W from J-box #1 to control panel for connecting
luminaires #18 thru #24 to service per note 2, above. If this
option selected, an intermediate pull box will be required and
a #8 groundwire. /7u
