SANITARY SEWER GENERAL NOTES:
1. All workmanship and materials shall be in conformance with the standards
and specifications of the City of Renton, Public Works Department, and
APWA Standards and Specifications, latest edition, and/or the criteria
for sewage work design published by the Department of Ecology.
2. All locations of existing utilities shown are approximate and it shall
be the Contractor's responsibility to verify the true and correct locations
so as to avoid damage or disturbance. All existing utility elevations
to be confirmed prior to construction.
3. Offsite streets are to be kept clean at all times.
4. Boundary and Topographic information have been provided by others.
5. Prior to installation a side sewer permit must be purchased from the City
of Renton Public Works Department.
6. The new sanitary sewer line shall be plugged and not put into service
until all lines have been cleaned, flushed and tested. Contractor to
field verify location and invert of sewer prior to construction.
7. Connection of P.V.C. pipe to manholes shall be accomplished using manhole
couplings corresponding to the size of the sewer pipe. Connections to
existing manholes shall be core drilled and the manhole rechanneled
accordingly. A conical type flexible seal equal to KOR-N-SEAL shall
be installed at each connection.
S. The Sanitary sewer pipe shall be polyvinyl chloride (P.V.C.) to meet extra
strength minimum of SDR-35 of the requirements of ASTM specifications
D3034-73. Fittings shall be of same material as pipe.
9. A copy of these approved plans must be on the job site whenever construction
is in progress.
10. The contractor shall arrange a preconstruction conference a minimum of
48 hours prior to commencing construction. Representatives of the
Contractor, the Utility Department and representatives from any interested
utility shall attend.
11. All disturbed areas shall be seeded and mulched or otherwise stabilized
to the satisfaction of the Department for the prevention of on -site erosion
after the completion of construction.
12. All pipe and appurtenances shall be laid on a properly prepared
foundation in accordance with Section 7-17 of the current State of
Washington Standard Specifications for Road and RridoF
Construction. This shall include necessary leveling of the trench
bottom or the top of the foundation material as well as placement
and compaction of required bedding material to uniform grade sc
that the entire length of the pipe will he supported on a
uniformly dense unyielding base. Pipe bedding shall be pea gravel
6" over & 6" under pipe. Trench hackfill shall be import and
shall be per APWA Section 9-30.7 (3).
