EROSION CONTROL GENERAL NOTES:
1. All construction shall be in accordance with the City of Renton's
Development Standards, Renton City Code, Permit Conditions, and all
other applicable codes, ordinances, and policies.
2. All limits of clearing and areas of vegetation preservation as prescribed
on the plan shall be clearly flagged in the field and observed during
construction.
3. Where possible, maintain natural vegetation for silt control.
4. All required sedimentation/erosion control facilities must be constructed
and in operation prior to land clearing and/or other construction to
insure that sediment laden water does not enter the natural drainage
system. All erosion and sediment facilities shall be maintained in
a satisfactory
s a c[or condition un
til such
h time that clearing
a to
8
and/or
construction is completed and potential for onsite erosion has passed.
The implementation, maintenance, replacement and additions to
erosion/sedimentation control systems shall be the responsibility of
the permittee.
5. The erosion and sedimentation control systems depicted on this drawing
are intended to be minimum requirements to meet anticipated site
conditions. As the construction progresses and unexpected or seasonal
conditions dictate, the permittee should anticipate that more erosion
and sedimentation control facilities will be necessary to insure complete
siltation control on the proposed site. During the course of
construction, it shall be the obligation and responsibility of the
permittee to address any new conditions that may be created by his
activities and to provide additional facilities, over and above minimum
requirements, as may be needed to protect adjacent properties and water
quality of the receiving drainage system.
6. Any disturbed area which has been stripped of vegetation and where
no further work is anticipated for a period of 30 days or more must
be immediately stabilized with mulching, grass planting or other approved
erosion control treatment applicable to the time of year in question.
Grass seeding alone will be acceptable only durng months of April through
September inclusive. Seeding may proceed outside the specified time
period whenever it is in the interest of the permittee, but must be
augmented with mulching, netting, or other treatment approved by the
Department.
7. All erosion/sedimentation control ponds with a dead storage depth
exceeding 6 inches must have a fence with a minimum height of 3 feet.
8. Prior to occupancy of the building, the permanent storm drainage system
shall be cleaned by pumping (not into the storm drainage system) or
other method as approved by the Storm and Surface Water Utility. All
downstream catch basins shall be checked for sedimentation build up
GENERAL NOTES
1. All workmanship and materials shall be in conformance with.the standards
and specifications of the City of Renton, Public Works Department,
and/or King County and APWA Standards and Specifications, latest Edition.
2. All locations of existing utilities shown are approximate and it shall
be the Contractor's responsibility to verify the true and correct
locations so as to avoid damage or disturbances.
3. Storm drain pipe shall be type as indicated on the plans. See pipe
schedule for gauges. If steel is used, it shall be APWA Treatment
1.
4. 1.5 foot minimum cover over CMP; rubber gaskets required.
5. Offaite streets are to be kept clean at all times.
6. Boundary and Topographic information have been provided by others.
7. All existing utility elevations to be confirmed prior to construction.
8. Site plan horizontal control and dimensional data is shown on Architect's
site plan.
9. Provide cleanouts in building drains at ends, bends (45' max. per
bend) and at 100-foot intervals.
10. The storm drainage system shall be constructed according to the approved
plans which are on file in the Department's Central Records. Any
deviation from the approved plans will require written approvel from
the Department.
11. A copy of these approved plans must be on the job site whenever
construction is in progress.
12. Before any construction/development activity occurs, a pre -construction
meeting must be held with the Department's Development Inspection
Section.
13. All sediment/erosion facilities must be in operation prior to clearing
and building construction, and they must be satisfactorily maintained
until construction is completed and the potential for on -site erosion
has passed.
14. All retention/detention facilities must be installed and in operation
prior to or in conjunction with all construction activity unless that
activity exceeds the capacity and intent of the erosion/sedimentation
control facilities or unless otherwise approved by the Department.
15. All distrubed areas shall be seeded and mulched or otherwise stabilized
to the satisfaction of the Department for the prevention of on -site
erosion after the comDletion of construction.
16. All pipe and appurtenances shall be laid on a properly prepared
foundation in accordance with section 7-02.30 ), 7-04.3 6 7-17.3 of
the curre
nt State of Washington Standard Specifications for Road and
Bridge Construction. This shall include necessary leveling of the
trench bottom or the top of the foundation material as well as placement
and compaction of required bedding material to uniform grade so that
the entire length of the pipe will be supported on a uniformly dense
unyielding base. Pipe bedding shall be pea gravel 6" over and 6" under
pipe. Trench backfill shall be import and shall be per APWA Section
9-30.7(3).
17. Construction of dewatering (groundwater) system shall be in accordance
with the APWA Standard Specification, Section 61-3-02. (1981 Ed. APWA)
18. Galvanized steel pipe utilized as detention facilities shall have asphalt
treatment #1 or better inside and outside.
19. Structures shall not be permitted within 10' of the spring line of
any storm drainage pipe(s), or 15' from the top of any channel bank.
20. Due to the lack of as -built plans concerning the existing storm system,
existing storm line configurations may not be as indicated on the design
plans. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to verify their
correct locations and if different from the locations shown, the engineer
shall be notified prior to commencing construction.
21. A four inch (4") perforated pipe shall be installed within the downstream
end of the detention pipe's bedding for a minimum length of twenty
feet (20') and then tightlined to the nearest catch basin downstream
of the control structure.
22. All catch basin grates shall be depressed 0.10 feet below pavement
level.
23. All backfill shall be imported structural fill in accordance with APWA
