SPECIFICATIONS
1. GENERAL
1.1 The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and material to
complete.the work shown on this plan.
1.2 All grades shown on the plan are approximate and shall be
adjusted in the field to suit the conditions.
1.3 All reference to the APWA means Standard Specifications for
Municipal Public Works Construction by the Washington State
Chapter of the American Public Works Association, latest edition.
2. E,XCAVATION
2.1 All existing pavement shall be saw cut prior to removal.
2.2 All excavated material shall be removed from Boeing Property and
disposed of legally. Prior to removal, the excavated material
shall be inspected by the Boeing Environmental Department.
2.3 All existing utility locations shown on the plan are approximate.
The contractor shall use extreme caution during excavation to
avoid damage to existing lines.
3. EARTHWORK
3.1 Trench backfill shall be installed to the dimensions shown on the
Trench Detail and placed and compacted in accordance with the
APWA.
3.2 Bank Run Gravel shall conform to the applicable sections of the
APWA, with no pieces larger than 4 inches in.
3.3 Crushed Rock Base shall conform to the applicable sections of the
APWA listed as Crushed Surfacing.
3.4 Gravel or Sand Pipe Bedding shall conform to the applicable
sections of the APWA.
4. PAVEMENT
4.1 All pavements shall be installed in accordance with the APWA.
4.1 Cement -Concrete shall be Hi -early with f'c=3000psi @ 3 days.
After installation, the new concrete shall be sealed, covered
with plastic and allowed to cure for 3 days.
5. DRAINAGE
5.1 All drainage pipe shall be installed in accordance with the
applicable sections of the APWA. Grades and slopeE; shall be
adjusted as necessary to suit the exact location of other
utilities.
5.2 All concrete pipe and fittings shall be rubber gasketed and
conform to the applicable sections of the APWA.
5.3 All ductile iron (DI) pipe and fittings shall be rubber gasketed
and conform to the applicable sections of the APWA.
5.3 All pipe bends shall be 45 degrees.
6. MISCELLANEOUS
6.1 All steel reinforcing bar shall be ASTM Grade 60.
