GENERAL NOTES
1. All work and materials shall be in conformance with the standards and
specifications of the City of Renton and the latest edition of the APWA
Standards and Specifications.
2. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to obtain the necessary permits
for construction prior to proceeding with the work outlined.
3. The existing utilities shown on these plans were obtained from a search
of the available public records and by a field survey. It shall be the
contractor's responsibility to verify the location of all utilities that may
conflict with construction, whether shown on these plans or not. The
contractor shall be solely responsible for any damage to underground
facilities resulting from his operations.
4. All layout dimensions on this plan are perpendicular or parallel to the
easterly property line, unless noted thus (*).
5. All new grade elevations shown are measured to "top of asphalt paving"
unless otherwise noted. All sidewalks shall slope at 2% away from the
building walls.
6. All side slopes shown on these plans shall be 2:1 maximum (unless noted
otherwise).
7. All new asphalt pavement shall consist of:
- 2" min. Class B asphalt, over
- 4" min. crushed surfacing, over
- compacted subgrade. (All depths are compacted measurements.)
8. Contractor shall field locate 2" diameter- weep holes where required in
curbing to promote drainage from landscaping areas.
9. All parking stalls must be striped. All compact stalls and handicapped
stalls must be physically designated as such prior to occupancy. Traffic
arrows must be clearly marked and delineated on the site prior to occupancy.
0. All corrugated metal pipe shall be helical corrugated (112" x 2-2/3") with
asphalt coating treatment No. 1. Aluminum or galvanized pipe may be
substituted for asphalt coated steel pipe of the same specifications. Pipe
12" and smaller shall be 16 gage. 36" pipe shall be 14 gage.
11. All pipe shall be laid on a properly prepared foundation according to State
of Washington Spec. 7-02. 3(1) . This shall include necessary leveling of
the trench bottom or the top of the foundation material as well as placement
and compaction of required bedding material to unifcrrn grade so that the
entire length of the pipe will be supported on a uniformly dense unyielding
base. If the native material in the bottom of the trench meets the require-
ments for "gravel backfill for pipe bedding" the first lift of pipe bedding
may be omitted provided the material in the bottom of the trench is loosened,
regraded and compacted to form a dense unyielding base.
12. All frames and grates shall be provided with locking nuts.
