GENERAL NOTES
1. All work and materials shall be In accordance with City
of Renton Standards and Specifications and
1984 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and
Municipal Construction (State of Washington).
2. Existing utility locations are approximate only. It shall
be the Contractors responsibility to verify locations and
Inverts prior to construction. For utility locations in
City of Renton call 1-800-424-5555.
3. All dewatering required shall be done in accordance with
Section 7-11.3(01) 1984 Standard Specifications for Road,
Bridge and Municipal Construction (State of Washington).
4. Unless otherwise noted, storm drain pipe shall be rubber
gasketed concrete (ASTM C-14-II or ASTM C-76-11) galvanized
steel with asphalt treatment 1 or better,
helically corrugated metal
pipe with watertight connecting bands; or equal.
5. Pipe excavation, backfill and bedding shall conform to
Section 7-04 of the 1984 Standard Specifications for Road,
Bridge and Municipal Construction (State of Washington).
Unless shown otherwise, bedding shall be sand or pea -gravel,
in accordance with Section 9-30.7A of the 1984 Standard
Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction
(State of Washington). Remaining backfill and compaction
shall be in accordance with Section 7-04.3(3) of the 1984
Standard Specifications. Water settling will not be allowed.
Compact trench backfill to 95%.
6. A copy of the approved plans must be on the job site
whenever construction is in progress.
7. All disturbed areas not receiving landscaping shall be
hydroseeded with rye grass. Seeding shall be done using
an approved hydroseeder or as otherwise approved by the City
of Renton.
8. If the Contractor elects to use dissimilar metals within
the detention system, it shall be his responsibility to
Provide adequate electrolitic insulation.
9. The storm drainage system shall be constructed according to
the approved plans. Any deviation from the approved plans
will require written approval from the City of Renton.
10. Soil compaction shall be in accordance with ASTM D-1557
(Modified Proctor).
11. The Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning and
flushing all storm drains prior to acceptance by the owner.
12. All required storm water retention/detention facilities
must be constructed and in operation prior to paving
and building construction unless otherwise approved by
the City of Renton.
13. Galvanized steel pipe utilized as detention facilities
shall have asphalt treatment #1 or better inside and
outside.
14. All R/D facilities will be installed and in operation
prior to or in conjunction with all construction activity
unless that activity exceeds the capacity and intent of
the erosion/sedimentation control facilities or unless
otherwise approved by the City of Renton.
15. All rock shall conform to Section 9-13 of the 1980
State of Washington Standard Specifications. Unless
shown otherwise, rock aggregate for erosion protection
shall be placed to a depth of 1 foot and graded as
fo l lows: 1 /2"-2tt, 10%-20%; 2"-411, 20%-40%; 4"-811,
40%-70%.
