A.) POWER, TELEPHONE, GAS, SEATTLE WATER, AND CABLE: EXISTING UTILITY LOCATIONS ARE SHOWN ON
THE PLANS FOR THE CONTRACTOR'S INFORMATION. LOCATIONS OF THESE UTILITIES ARE APPROXIMATE AND
ARE BASED ON RECORDS SUPPLIED BY EACH UTILITY. THE DEPTH OF EACH OF THESE UTILITIES IS SHOWN
ON THE PROFILE AND IS BASED ON TYPICAL LAYERING DEPTHS FOR EACH OF THESE UTILITIES. HOWEVER,
THE ACTUAL DEPTH IS UNKNOWN AND WILL VARY SIGNIFICANTLY.
B.) SANITARY AND STORM SEWERS: THE EXISTING SANITARY SEWER LINES AND SIDE SEWERS STUBS AND
STORM SEWERS AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE APPROXIMATE AND BASED ON AVAILABLE SIDE SEWER RECORDS.
LOCATIONS OF CROSSINGS IDENTIFIED ON THE PLANS ARE BASED ON NEARBY SEWER FACILITIES AND AN
ASSUMED SLOPE.
C.) UTILITY CONFLICT WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RESOLVED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER:
IF THE PROPOSED 12" WATER MAIN CONFLICT WITH ANY UTILITY, THE WATER MAIN WILL BE DEFLECTED AT THE JOINTS
TO GO UNDER THE CONFLICTING UTILITY. IF JOINT DEFLECTION CANNOT BE USED, VERTICAL BENDS WITH BLOCKING
AND RESTRAINED RODS SHALL BE USED TO LOWER THE WATER UNDER THE CONFLICTING UTILITY, WITH A MINIMUM OF
6" VERTICAL CLEARANCE. INSTALL 6" ETHAFOAM PAD BETWEEN THE PIPES.
D.) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE ONE -CALL UTILITY LOCATE SERVICE 1-800-424-5555 PRIOR TO AND
DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE THE PROJECT ENGINEER AND THE UTILITY
COMPANIES WHEN CONFLICTS OCCUR.
E.) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE SEATTLE WATER DEPT. PRIOR TO CROSSING THE EXISTING CEDAR RIVER
PIPELINES NOS 1,2, & 3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REQUIREMETS ESTABLISHED BY THE
SEATTLE WATER DEPT. FOR THESE CROSSINGS.
TEMPORARY STREET RESTORATION NOTES
A,) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH ALL TRENCH CUTS AT THE END OF EACH W❑RKING DAY WITH A
TEMPORARY ASPHALT PATCH, EXCEPT THE LAST SECTI❑N OF THE TRENCH WHICH CAN BE COVERED
WITH STEEL SHEETS. THESE PATCHES SHALL BE COMPACTED WITH A ROLLER COMPACTOR TO A DENSITY
WHICH WILL PR❑VIDE A SMOOTH, FIRM SURFACE FOR VEHICLES. THE PATCHES SHALL BE MAINTAINED
DAILY THROUGHOUT THE DURATI❑N OF THE PROJECT TO PREVENT POT H❑LING AND RUTS FROM F❑RMING.
ALL POTHOLES, RUTS, AND BUMPS MUST BE REPAIRED IF THE DEFECT EXCEEDS AN INCH IN DEPTH OR
HEIGHT,
B,) AT THE END OF EACH W❑RKING WEEK, THE ENGINEER WILL INSPECT THE TEMPORARY PATCHES. IF
