GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS
AND STANDARD DETAILS OF WATER DISTRICT NO. 90. THE SPECIFICATIONS AND
STANDARD DETAILS MAY BE A SEPARATE SET OF DOCUMENTS, APART FROM
THESE DRAWINGS. A SET OF APPROVED PLANS SHALL BE KEPT ON SITE AT ALL
TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
2. THE OWNER SHALL FURNISH THE ENGINEER WITH A COPY OF THE APPROVED
ROAD GRADE, ROAD CROSS SECTION, AND DRAINAGE PLAN PRIOR TO ANY
WATERMAIN CONSTRUCTION.
3. EXISTING UTILITIES ARE SHOWN FROM THE BEST AVAILABLE INFORMATION AND
NO GUARANTEE IS MADE AS TO THE EXACT SIZE, TYPE, LOCATION, OR DEPTHS.
4. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF ANY WATERMAINS, THE STREETS AND LOTS SHALL
BE STAKED AND THE CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES.
5. ALL WORK IN STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROAD ENGINEER WITH JURISDICTION - EITHER KING
COUNTY OR THE CITY OF RENTON.
6. WATERMAIN SHALL PASS UNDER STORM SEWER WHEN REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN
3-FOOT MINIMUM COVER OVER TOP OF WATERMAIN 8-INCH AND SMALLER (4-
FOOT MINIMUM FOR LARGER THAN 8-INCH PIPE). THERE SHALL BE NOT LESS
THAN A 6-INCH CUSHION BETWEEN THE WATERMAIN AND THE STORM SEWER.
7. WATER SERVICES SHALL BE LOCATED AT LEAST 5 FEET FROM POWER VAULTS
HAND HOLES AND/OR LIGHT STANDARDS. SERVICES SHALL BE INSTALLED BY
CONTRACTOR & WILL BE LOCATED BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN OWNER,
DISTRICT, AND OTHER UTILITY COMPANIES.
8. FOLLOWING WATERMAIN CONSTRUCTION, ANY REVISION OF ROADWAY OR
EASEMENT GRADES REQUIRES THE MAINS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED BY THE
OWNER TO CONFORM TO THE SPECIFICATIONS OF WATER DISTRICT No. 90. ALL
ADDED COSTS OF INSPECTIONS FOR SUCH REVISIONS WILL BE CHARGED TO THE
OWNER IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD CHARGES, AND SHALL BE PAID BEFORE
ACCEPTANCE BY WATER DISTRICT No. 90.
9. WATER SERVICE CONNECTION DETAILS:
A. 2" x 4" WOOD MARKER PAINTED BLUE AND IMPRINTED WITH "WATER" IN
BLACK LETTERS SHALL BE PLACED AT EACH ANGLE STOP LOCATION WITH A
MINIMUM OF 18" OF THE MARKER EXPOSED.
B. PAINT SERVICE LOCATION ON CURB WITH COLOR AS DIRECTED BY THE
ENGINEER.
C. PROPERTY CORNERS SHALL BE PINNED AND THERE SHALL BE A REFERENCE
TACK PLACED IN THE CURB OR EDGE OF ASPHALT.
10. THERE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 10-FOOT HORIZONTAL SEPARATION BETWEEN
WATERMAINS AND SANITARY SEWERS. VERTICAL SEPARATION SHALL BE PER
THE DEPT. OF ECOLOGY CRITERIA FOR SEWAGE WORKS DESIGN MANUAL.
