1. QUANTITIES SHOWN IN O ARE TOTAL QUANTITY.
2. ACTUAL LENGTHS SHALL BE DETERMINED PER SITE CONDITION BY SUBCONTRACTOR.
3. THE DESIGN IS BASED ON RF DATA SHEETS, SIGNED AND APPROVED.
4, RADIO SIGNAL CABLE AND RACEWAY SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE (NEC. NFPA 70), CHAPTER 8.
5. ALL SPECIFIED MATERIAL FOR EACH LOCATION (EG., OUTDOORS, INDOORS -OCCUPIED,
INDOORS -UNOCCUPIED, PLENUMS, RISER SHAFTS, ETC.) SHALL BE APPROVED, LISTED, OR LABELED AS
REQUIRED BY THE NEC.
6. RADIO SIGNAL CABLE SHALL BE SUPPORTED AT MINIMUM OF EVERY THREE (3) FEET EXCEPT INSIDE
MONOPOLES OR LATTICE TOWERS WHERE CABLE AND CONNECTOR MANUFACTURERS SUPPORT
RECOMMENDATIONS SHALL BE FOLLOWED. MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED CABLE SUPPORT ACCESSORIES
SHALL BE USED.
7. THE OUTDOOR CABLE SUPPORT SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH AN ICE SHIELD TO SUPPORT AND
PROTECT ANTENNA CABLE RUNS. SEE DETAIL NUMBER 576.
8. DRIP LOOPS SHALL BE REQUIRED ON ALL OUTSIDE CABLES. CABLES SHALL BE SLOPED AWAY FROM THE
BUILDING OR OUTDOOR BTS CABINETS TO PREVENT WATER FROM ENTERING THROUGH THE COAXIAL CABLE
PORT,
9. ALL FEEDER LINE AND JUMPER CONNECTORS FOR GSM SHALL BE AWS APPROVED 7-16 DIN CABLE
CONNECTORS THAT MEET IP68 STANDARDS,
10. WHEN MODIFYING EXISTING TDMA COAXIAL CABLES FOR GSM USE, REMOVE ALL EXISTING N TYPE
CONNECTORS WHERE FEASIBLE AND REPLACE WITH NEW 7-16 DIN CONNECTORS.
11, MINIMUM CABLE BENDING RADIUS SHALL BE ADHERED TO IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 6.0 OF
DESIGN CRITERIA (DOCUMENT NO. 24623-033-3DR-GET-00001).
12. ALL 7-16 DIN CONNECTORS SHALL BE IP68 RATED. ALL OUTDOOR CONNECTORS AND ALL COAXIAL
CABLE SHIELDING GROUND POINTS SHALL BE WEATHERPROOFED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING
PROCEDURE:
START WITH ANDREW WEATHERPROOFING KIT TYPE 221213_ START TAPE APPROXIMATELY 5 INCHES FROM
THE CONNECTOR AND WRAP 2 INCHES TOWARD THE CONNECTOR, THEN REVERSE THE TAPE SO THAT THE
STICKY SIDE IS UP. TAPE OVER THE CONNECTOR OR SURGE ARRESTOR UNTIL THREE (3) TO FOUR (4)
INCHES BEYOND THE CONNECTOR AND REVERSE AGAIN WITH THE STICKY SIDE DOWN FOR ANOTHER INCH
OR TWO. ADD THE 8U7YL RUBBER AND FINISH WITH A FINAL LAYER OF ANDREWS TAPE.
13. MHA's/TMA's SHALL NOT BE PAINTED.
14. ANTENNAS SHALL BE PAINTED, WHEN REQUIRED, TO MATCH EXISTING ANTENNAS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
ANTENNA MANUFACTURERS' SURFACE PREPARATION AND PAINTING REQUIREMENTS. ALLGON ANTENNAS
SHALL USE ALLGON SYSTEM AS; ALLGON DOCUMENT NUMBER 990323/LL KATHRON TECHNICAL BULLETIN
#119 OCT. 99.
15. CABLE SHIELDS, AND TOWER CONDUITS SHALL BE GROUNDED AT THE TOP OF THE TOWER, WITHIN 10
FEET OF THEIR CONNECTORS, AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOWER ABOUT 6 INCHES BEFORE THEY TURN
TOWARD THE FACILITY. THEY SHALL BE GROUNDED AT THE MIDPOINT OF TOWERS THAT ARE BETWEEN ISO
FEET AND 300 FEET HIGH, AND AT INTERVALS OF ISO FEET OR LESS ON TOWERS THAT ARE HIGHER THAN
300 FEET. THEY SHALL BE ALSO GROUNDED AT THE WAVEGUIDE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY.
16. APPROVED GROUNDING KITS, WHICH INCLUDE GROUNDING STRAPS, SHALL BE USED TO GROUND THE
COAXIAL CABLE SHIELDS, AND CONDUITS. THE GROUND CONDUCTORS FOR THE KITS AT THE TOP OF THE
TOWER, AND IN THE MIDDLE SECTION OF THE TOWER, ARE BONDED DIRECTLY TO TOWER STEEL USING
EXOTHERMIC, BOLTED, OR APPROVED CLAMP CONNECTIONS.
17. ALL RADIO SIGNAL. CABLE SHALL BE LABELED WITH COLOR -CODED ELECTRICAL TAPE (3M SCOTCH 35.
7 MILS THICK, 1/ INCH WIDE, VINYL ELECTRICAL TAPE, OR CONTRACTOR APPROVED EQUAL) AND BRASS OR
STAINLESS STEEL IDENTIFICATION TAGS AS SPECIFIED IN DETAIL NUMBER 600, 600A.
18. THE SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL FILL IN DETAIL 601 AND AFFIX IT TO A WEATHER -PROTECTED LOCATION
(E.G., THE SHELTER INTERIOR WALL) NEAR THE CABLE PORT.
19, RECOMMENDED SURGE ARRESTORS THAT CAN BE USED WITH THE BTS EQUIPMENT:
ANDREW: 7-16 DIN M/F WIDEBAND 1/4 WAVE, GAS TUBE WITH DC BYPASS
HUGER+SUHNER: 7-16 DIN M/F WIDERAND 1/4 WAVE, GAS TUBE WITH DC 13YPASS
20, DUPLEXERS AND/OR DIPLEXERS AND MOUNTING HARDWARE (J CLAMPS)
WHERE REQUIRED SHALL BE SUPPLIED BY CONTRACTOR AND INSTALLED BY THE SUBCONTRACTOR.
21. MHA/TMA'S TO BE INSTALLED AT TOWER TOP, SHALL BE SUPPLIED BY CONTRACTOR (WHERE REQUIRED)
AND INSTALLED 13Y THE SUBCONTRACTOR.
22. ANTENNA FEED LINE SYSTEM SWEEP TESTING SHALL BE PERFORMED AND REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF AWS DOCUMENT NO. WNS-0284 (LATEST REVISION). CONTRACTOR WILL NOT
ACCEPT A RADIO SIGNAL CABLE INSTALLATION WITH UNSATISFACTORY SWEEP TEST RESULTS,
