GENERAL NOTE
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF RENTON CODE, KING COUNTY ROAD STANDARDS (KCRS), KING COUNTY SURFACE
WATER DESIGN MANUAL (KCSWDM) AND THE CONDITIONS OF PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION APPROVAL. IT SHALL BE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
APPLICANT AND THE PROFESSIONAL CIVIL ENGINEER TO CORRECT ANY ERROR, OMISSION, OR VARIATION FROM THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS FOUND IN
THESE PLANS, ALL CORRECTIONS SHALL BE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST OR LIABILITY TO THE CITY OF RENTON.
2. THE DESIGN ELEMENTS WITHIN THESE PLANS HAVE BEEN REVIEWED ACCORDING TO THE CITY OF RENTON, SOME ELEMENTS MAY HAVE BEEN
OVERLOOKED OR MISSED BY THE CITY PLAN REVIEWER. ANY VARIANCE FROM ADOPTED STANDARDS IS NOT ALLOWED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY APPROVED
BY THE CITY OF RENTON PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION,
3. APPROVAL OF THIS ROAD, GRADING, AND DRAINAGE PLAN DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN APPROVAL OF ANY OTHER CONSTRUCTION (E.G., DOMESTIC
WATER CONVEYANCE, SEWER CONVEYANCE, GAS, ELECTRICAL, ETC.),
4, BEFORE ANY CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY, A PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING MUST BE HELD BETWEEN THE CITY OF RENTON, THE
APPLICANT, AND THE APPLICANTS CONSTRUCTION REPRESENTATIVE.
5, A COPY OF THESE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS,
6. CONSTRUCTION NOISE SHALL BE LIMITED IN ACCORDANCE WITH KING COUNTY CODE (SECTION 12.88); NORMALLY, THIS IS 7A.M. TO 10 P.M, ON
WEEKDAYS AND 9 A.M. TO 10 P.M. ON WEEKENDS.
7. IT SHALL BE THE APPLICANT'S/CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO OBTAIN ALL CONSTRUCTION EASEMENTS NECESSARY BEFORE INITIATING
OFF --SITE WORK WITHIN THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.
8. FRANCHISED UTILITIES OR OTHER INSTALLATIONS THAT ARE NOT SHOWN ON THESE APPROVED PLANS SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUCTED UNLESS AN
APPROVED SET OF PLANS THAT MEETS ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY OF RENTON IS SUBMITTED TO CITY INSPECTION SECTION THREE DAYS PRIOR
TO CONSTRUCTION.
9, DATUM SHALL BE NAVD 1988 UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY DOES.
10. GROUNDWATER SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE WITHIN A RIGHT-OF-WAY OR APPROPRIATE DRAINAGE EASEMENT, BUT NOT UNDERNEATH THE
ROADWAY SECTION. ALL GROUNDWATER SYSTEMS MUST BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION B15.02 OF THE APWA STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS.
11. ALL UTILITY TRENCHES SHALL BE BACKFILLED AND COMPACTED TO 95 PERCENT DENSITY.
12, ALL ROADWAY SUBGRADE SHALL BE BACKFILLED AND COMPACTED TO 95 PERCENT DENSITY (WSDOT 2-06.5).
13. OPEN CUTTING OF EXISTING ROADWAYS IS NOT ALLOWED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY APPROVED BY THE CITY OF RENTON AND NOTED ON THESE
APPROVED PLANS.
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ADEQUATE SAFEGUARDS, SAFETY DEVICES, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, FLAGGERS, AND
ANY OTHER NEEDED ACTIONS TO PROTECT THE LIFE, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC, AND TO PROTECT PROPERTY IN CONNECTION WITH THE
PERFORMANCE OF WORK COVERED BY THE CONTRACTOR. ANY WORK WITHIN THE TRAVELED RIGHT-OF-WAY THAT MAY INTERRUPT NORMAL TRAFFIC
FLOW SHALL REQUIRE AT LEAST ONE FLAGGER FOR EACH LANE OF TRAFFIC AFFECTED. SECTION 1-07.23, "TRAFFIC CONTROL," OF THE WSOOT
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS SHALL APPLY IN ITS ENTIRETY.
1, BEFORE ANY CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY OCCURS, A PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING MUST BE HELD WITH THE CITY OF RENTON
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIVISION, CONSTRUCTION SERVICES (277-5570).
2. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST EDITION OF THE "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD, BRIDGE AND MUNICIPAL
CONSTRUCTION" PREPARED BY WSDOT AND THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION {APWA) AS AMENDED BY THE CITY OF RENTON,
3. THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED ACCORDING TO THE APPROVED PLANS WHICH ARE ON FILE WITH THE CITY OF RENTON.
ANY DEVIATION FROM THE APPROVED PLANS WILL REQUIRE WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM THE CITY OF RENTON DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIVISION.
4. A COPY OF THESE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS.
5, DATUM SHALL BE U.S.C. AND G.S. UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE CITY OF RENTON. REFERENCE BENCH MARK AND ELEVATION ARE NOTED
ON THE PLANS.
6. ALL SEDIMENTATION/EROSION FACILITIES MUST BE IN OPERATION PRIOR TO CLEARING AND BUILDING CONSTRUCTION, AND THEY MUST BE
SATISFACTORILY MAINTAINED UNTIL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED AND THE POTENTIAL FOR ON -SITE EROSION HAS PASSED.
7, ALL RETENTION/DETENTION/INFILTRATION FACILITIES MUST BE INSTALLED AND IN OPERATION PRIOR TO OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIVISION.
8. GRASS SEED MAY BE APPLIED BY HYDROSEEDING. THE GRASS SEED MIXTURE, OTHER THAN CITY OF RENTON APPROVED STANDARD MIX, MUST BE
SUBMITTED BY A LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT AND APPROVED BY THE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIVISION,
9. ALL PIPE AND APPURTENANCES SHALL BE LAID ON A PROPERLY PREPARED FOUNDATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7--02.3(1) OF THE
CURRENT STATE OF WASHINGTON STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION. THIS SHALL INCLUDE NECESSARY BEDDING
MATERIAL TO UNIFORM GRADE SO THAT THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE PIPE WILL BE SUPPORTED ON A UNIFORM DENSE, UNYIELDING BASE. ALL PIPE
BEDDING SHALL RE APWA CLASS "C" WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PVC PIPE. ALL TRENCH BACKFILL SHALL BE COMPACTED TO MINIMUM 95 PERCENT
FOR PAVEMENT AND STRUCTURAL FILL AND 90 PERCENT OTHERWISE PER ASTM D-1557-70. PEA GRAVEL BEDDING SHALL BE 6 INCHES OVER AND
UNDER PVC PIPE.
10. GALVANIZED STEEL PIPE AND ALUMINIZED STEEL PIPE FOR ALL DRAINAGE FACILITIES SHALL HAVE ASPHALT TREATMENT #1 OR BETTER INSIDE AND
OUTSIDE.
11. STRUCTURES SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED WITHIN 10 FEET OF THE SPRING LINE OF ANY STORM DRAINAGE PIPE, OR 15 FEET FROM THE TOP OF
ANY CHANNEL.
12. ALL CATCH BASIN GRATES SHALL BE DEPRESSED 0.10-FOOT BELOW PAVEMENT LEVEL.
13. OPEN CUT ROAD CROSSINGS THROUGH EXISTING PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY APPROVED BY THE CITY
OF RENTON,
14, ROCK FOR EROSION PROTECTION OF ROADSIDE DITCHES, WHERE REQUIRED, SHALL BE OF SOUND QUARRY ROCK PLACED TO A DEPTH OF ONE
FOOT AND MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: 4"-8"/40%-70% PASSING; 2"-4" ROCK/J09.-407. PASSING; AND 2" ROCK/10%-20%
PASSING.
15. ALL BUILDING DOWNSPOUTS AND FOOTNG DRAINS SHALL BE CONNECTED TO THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM UNLESS APPROVED BY THE
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DIVISION. AN ACCURATELY DIMENSIONED CERTIFIED AS --BUILT DRAWING OF THIS DRAINAGE SYSTEM WILL BE SUBMITTED TO
THE CITY OF RENTON UPON COMPLETION.
16. ISSUANCE OF THE BUILDING OR CONSTRUCTION PERMIT BY THE CITY OF RENTON DOES NOT RELIEVE THE OWNER OF THE CONTINUING LEGAL
OBLIGATION AND/OR LIABILITY CONNECTED WITH STORM SURFACE WATER DISPOSITION. FURTHER, THE CITY OF RENTON DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY
OBLIGATION FOR THE PROPER FUNCTIONING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE SYSTEM PROVIDED DURING CONSTRUCTION,

18. SPECIAL DRAINAGE MEASURES WILL BE REQUIRED IF THE PROJECT LOCATION IS WITHIN THE AQUIFER PROTECTION AREA.
