ALL MATERIALS, WORKMANSHIP, AND CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS, TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS, 2003 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, THE AWWA D100-05 STANDARD FOR WELDED STEEL TANKS FOR
WATER STORAGE, THE RENTON MUNICIPAL CODE AND THE CITY OF RENTON STANDARD PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
2. PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE
A PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE AND TWENTY-FOUR HOUR NOTICE WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO STARTING
CONSTRUCTION.
3. CONSTRUCTION SAFETY
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND THE METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES
OR PROCEDURES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE WORK.
4. DAILY CLEANUP
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEANUP ALL AREAS AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES ON A DAILY BASIS TO THE
SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER. THIS INCLUDES REMOVAL OF ALL DUST, MUD, ROCKS, ASPHALT DEBRIS, AND REFUSE
FROM STREETS, SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, AND ANY OTHER AREAS AFFECTED BY THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. FAILURE
TO CLEANUP TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE OWNER WILL NECESSITATE A SHUTDOWN OF THE PROJECT UNTIL CLEANUP
IS PROPERLY PERFORMED.
5. EXISTING STRUCTURES AND UTILITIES
A. ALL UTILITIES: THE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN ON THESE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS ARE
APPROXIMATE. THE SOURCE OF INFORMATION GENERALLY CONSISTS OF CONSTRUCTION RECORDS, UTILITY LOCATES,
AND OTHER DATA OBTAINED VERBALLY FROM OFFICIALS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PARTICULAR UTILITY. OWNER AND
ENGINEER DO NOT GUARANTEE NOR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ACCURACY OF THIS INFORMATION. IT IS
UNDERSTOOD THAT OTHER ABOVE GROUND AND UNDERGROUND FACILITIES NOT SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS MAY BE
ENCOUNTERED DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE TRUE AND CORRECT
LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES TO AVOID DAMAGE OR DISTURBANCE.
B. UTILITY CONFLICTS: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT A ONE -CALL UTILITY LOCATE SERVICE PRIOR TO AND DURING
CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ENGINEER AND THE UTILITY COMPANY WHEN A
CONFLICT OCCURS OR WHEN A CONFLICT IS ANTICIPATED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING
OR REPAIRING ANY UTILITIES DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION.
6. PERMITS
A, COPY OF APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON -SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS.
THE OWNER WILL OBTAIN THE BUILDING PERMIT, SEPA PERMIT, AND RIGHT-OF-WAY PERMIT. THE CONTRACTOR MUST
OBTAIN ALL OTHER APPLICABLE PERMITS. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLYING WITH THE PROVISIONS
OF ALL PERMITS.
7. INSPECTION
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL BUILDING DEPARTMENT INSPECTIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION. SPECIAL
INSPECTIONS SHALL BE AS LISTED ON DWG NO SO9. COORDINATE SCHEDULING AND INSPECTIONS WITH OWNER.
8. CONSTRUCTION STAKING
THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR FOR ALL CONSTRUCTION STAKING ON
THIS PROJECT INCLUDING THE PREPARATION OF COMPLETE AS -BUILT RECORDS.
9. EMERGENCY ACCESS
CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS TO ALL STREETS WITHIN AND ADJACENT TO THE
CONSTRUCTION SITE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE 48-HOUR NOTICE TO EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS WHICH MAY BE
AFFECTED BY ACTIONS OF THE CONTRACTOR.
10. CONSTRUCTION STAGING AREA
CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT SHALL BE CONFINED TO THE CONSTRUCTION LIMITS SHOWN ON PLANS. IF THESE
AREAS ARE INADEQUATE FOR CONSTRUCTION STAGING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER TO
OUTLINE A NEW CONSTRUCTION STAGING AREA. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGEMENT OF THEIR OWN
OFFSITE CONSTRUCTION STAGING AREA IF SHOWN AREAS ARE INADEQUATE.
11. SITE DRAINAGE
SITE GRADES AND EXCAVATIONS SHALL BE SLOPED SO THAT SURFACE WATER FLOWS AWAY FROM FOOTINGS AND ALL
WATER DISCHARGES TO AN APPROPRIATE RECEIVING AREA WITHOUT ANY WATER QUALITY DEGRADATION.
