PAVEMENT DEMOLITION NOTES
THE EXISTING PAVEMENT MATERIALS FOR SUNSET BLVD NE VARIES FROM 6" TO
18" DEEP ASPHALT OVER 0" TO 8" DEEP CEMENT CONCRETE. THIS
INFORMATION IS A RESULT OF TEST BORINGS AND INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM
CITY STAFF BASED ON PREVIOUS PROJECTS. THIS INFORMATION IS
APPROXIMATE AND IS PROVIDED TO ASSIST THE CONTRACTOR IN DETERMINING
THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SAW CUTTING AND DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIALS.
NE SUNSET BLVD HAS BEEN IMPROVED SEVERAL TIMES RESULTING IN A
ROADWAY WITH VARYING THICKNESS OF PAVEMENT.
2. EXISTING UTILITY NOTES
EXISTING UTILITY LOCATION ARE SHOWN ON THE PLANS FOR THE
CONTRACTOR'S INFORMATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT A ONE —CALL
UTILITY LOCATE SERVICE PRIOR TO AND DURING CONSTRUCTION.
3. TEMPORARY STREET RESTORATION NOTES
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH ALL TRENCH CUTS AT THE END OF EACH
WORKING DAY WITH A TEMPORARY ASPHALT PATCH, EXCEPT THE LAST SECTION
OF THE TRENCH WHICH CAN BE COVERED WITH STEEL SHEETS. THESE
PATCHES SHALL BE COMPACTED WITH A ROLLER COMPACTOR TO A DENSITY
WHICH WILL PROVIDE A SMOOTH, FIRM SURFACE FOR VEHICLES. THE PATCHES
SHALL BE MAINTAINED DAILY THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT TO
PREVENT POT HOLING AN RUTS FROM FORMING. ALL POTHOLES, RUTS AND
BUMPS MUST BE REPAIRED IF THE DEFECT EXCEEDS AND INCH IN DEPTH OR
HEIGHT.
4. SUNSET BLVD NE STREET RESTORATION NOTES
FOLLOWING THE INSTALLATION OF THE PERMANENT PATCH, SUNSET BLVD NE
SHALL RECIEVE A 2—INCH GRIND AND OVERLAY AS SHOWN ON THIS PLAN.
