GRADING PLAN GENERAL NOTES
1. All work and materials shall be in conformance with the standards
and specifications of the City of Renton Utility Department and
the latest edition of the APWA standards and specifications.
2. A copy of this plan must be on -site whenever construction is in
progress.
3. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to obtain street
use and any other related permits prior to any construction in
county or state right-of-way.
4. Approximate location of existing utilities have been obtained
from available records and are shown for convenience. The
contractor shall be responsible for verification of locations
shown and discovery of possible additional utilities not shown,
so as to avoid damage or disturbance.
5. Locations of buildings, roadway and parking areas shown hereon
are approximate. Exact locations shall be field set by the
engineer.
6. See architectural site plan for exact locations of carports,
trash and storage facilities.
7. The temporary erosion/sedimentation control facilities shall be
constructed prior to any grading or extensive land clearing in
accordance with the approved temporary erosion/sedimentation
control plan. These facilities must be satisfactorily main-
tained until the construction and landscaping is completed and
the potential for on -site erosion has passed.
8. No final cut slope shall exceed 1,:1 (horiz.:vert.) without
stabilization by rockery (not to exceed 8') or by retaining
wall.
9. No final embank-ment slope shall exceed 2:1 (horiz.:vert.) with-
out stabilization by rockery (not to exceed 8') or by retaining
wall.
10. All earthwork under paving to be used by vehicular traffic shall
be compacted to minimum 92% density per ASTM D-1557-70 (modified
Proctor).
11. Unless otherwise noted, all elevations shown in paved areas on
the plans are top of paving.
12. All disturbed surfaces shall be seeded unless other landscaping/
erosion control measures are employed. Grass seeding will be
done using an approved type hydroseeder or as otherwise approved
by the City of Renton. Grass sod may be substituted for
hydroseeding.
13. The recommendations in Earth Consultants, Inc. Soils Report
No. E-999-7 are hereby incorporated by reference hereto.
14. Major exposed graded slopes shown on this plan will be protected
with plastic sheet until such time as vegetation cover has been
established sufficiently to eliminate erosion.
