HomeMy WebLinkAboutAirfield Pavement Management Plan.1SUMMARY OF PAVEMENT CONDITION SURVEY* TAXIWAY D The asphalt -surfaced taxiway is in fair to poor condition. There is 60 feet of alligator or fatigue cracking in the wheel path on the north side of the centerline. There are a few low to moderate severity longitudinal cracks and one moderately severe diagonal crack which covers the width of the taxiway. TAXIWAY E The taxiway is in good condition. Only one transverse crack was observed which was moderate in severity and ran full width of the taxiway. TAXIWAY F The taxiway is in poor condition. There are several moderately severe transverse cracks which go across the entire taxiway width. Numerous longitudinal cracks were observed which varied from low to moderate severity. Some of the longitudinal cracks were advancing into alligator or fatigue cracks. TAXIWAY G Two low severity cracks were noted on the taxiway which is overall in good condition. One of the cracks is a full width transverse crack and the other is a relatively short longitudinal crack. TAXIWAY H The taxiway is in fair to poor condition due to several high severity cracks. There are two transverse cracks which run full width and have grass growing through them. There is also a high severity longitudinal crack 25 feet north of the taxiway centerline which is about half the *CONDITION SURVEY CONDUCTED OCTOBER 1986 taxiway length. in addition several short, low to moderate severity longitudinal and transverse cracks were observed. TAXIWAY K The taxiway pavement is in very poor condition. It exhibits longitudinal and transverse cracking, block cracking, and alligator or fatigue cracking. The pavement distress was observed throughout the taxiway. The longitudinal cracking was moderate to high severity and the transverse cracking ranged from low to moderate severity. The block cracking was observed south of the taxiway centerline and was low severity. The fatigue cracking occurred in the wheelpaths and appeared low to moderately severe. TAXIWAY L The taxiway pavement is a new asphalt pavement and is in excellent condition. However, the construction joint along the runway edge is open in places from moderate to high severity. TAXIWAY M. The older portion of the taxiway, the center 12 1/2 feet, has failed. There are numerous, moderately severe transverse cracks. There is a longitudinal crack running along the centerline which has deteriorated. The new pavement along the outside edges of the taxiway is in excellent condition. TAXIWAY N. The asphalt pavement on the taxiway is new and is in excellent condition. No distress was observed. ACCESS TAXIWAY The taxiway is in good condition overall. The middle construction joint is cracked the entire length of the taxiway and is low to moderately severe. There are some additional small, low severity transverse cracks. The area intersecting with Taxiway M is in poor condition with low to moderate severity block cracking, low severity patch and low to moderately severe transverse cracks. BOEING BRIDGE TAXIWAY Overall, the taxiway is in fair condition. Several moderate to high severity longitudinal cracks were observed with occasional moderately severe transverse cracks. The construction joint at the intersection of Taxiway B is open up to 2 inches and has grass growing in it. Page_ of i
