Good morning Robert,
As the contractor is preparing to start the work for this connection they have ran into two issues that we are looking for your input on.
1. The shallowest drop they can find a manufacturer for has a 4ft minimum IE to IE.
2. In the KC sewer manhole in the street there isn’t a bench like is shown in the KC detail for the 90° to sit on (see marked up screen shot below). The SSMH structure is “set on” the
72” pipe rather than pipes coming into a standard MH structure, so there is additional concern about this drop connection catching on flow.
Would it be acceptable to have a straight drop and not have the 90°?
I am including Will from CPL who is the engineer of record on the project to help clarify anything if needed. Hoping that you can help provide guidance to us and or jump on a call if
needed to clarify.
