Handcrank, Handwheel or Chainwheel – All manual operators for service other than underground shall have a position indicator and shall be totally enclosed and permanently lubricated. Actuators shall be designed to produce the required operating torque with a maximum rim pull of 80 lb. on handwheel or chainwheel and a maximum input of 150 ft. lb. on operating nuts. 11. Cylinder – Cylinder operator shall be of the base mounted configuration. Cylinder barrel shall be of molybdenum- disulfide lined glass fiber reinforced epoxy tubing, to provide a corrosion-free, self-lubricated high-strength barrel. Rod seal shall be of urethane, molybdenum-disulfide filled, to provide a self-lubricated, long life seal. 12. OVERLOAD PROTECTION. Overloads developed by excessive input torque are absorbed instead of being transmitted to mechanism and valve. Lets you apply up to 450 ft-lbs. input torque at open and closed positions without damage to valve or operator. PERMANENTLY SEALED. Underground operator is permanently lubricated and sealed from ground water. REDUCES WATER HAMMER. Operator design is such that constant input speed results in variable output speed with slowing down of valve closure at ends of travel. This effect reduces water hammer, while maintaining rated output torque throughout entire travel. AWWA OPERATING NUT. The two-inch square operating nut on the underground operator is clearly marked with “open” and direction arrow. All other operators have position indicators, which clearly show “open-shut” positions. RUBBER TO STAINLESS SEATING provides bubble-tight, permanent closure. The unique vane-seat and body-seat construction of the M&H butterfly valve assures you of 100% bubble-tight sealing for the life of the valve. The 304 STAINLESS STEEL SEAT (1) is made integral with the valve body for a permanent, corrosion-resistant seating area. The RUBBER SEAT (2) is vulcanized to the stainless steel SEAT-RETAINING RING (3), which is firmly clamped to the vane by stainless steel SELF-LOCKING SCREW FASTENERS (4). This construction forms a positive lock between vane and rubber seat, which assures 360 degree leak-free seating. Eye Irritation: Corrosive to eyes. Skin Sensitization: This material is not known or reported to be a skin or respiratory sensitizer. Acute Toxicity: This product is corrosive to all tissues contacted and upon inhalation, may cause irritation to mucous membranes and respiratory tract. The dry material is irritating to the skin. However when wet, it will produce burns to the skin. Subchronic / Chronic Toxicity: There are no known or reported effects from repeated exposure except those secondary to burns. Reproductive and Developmental Toxicity: Calcium hypochlorite has been tested for teratogenicity in laboratory animals. Results of this study have shown that calcium hypochlorite is not a teratogen. CALCIUM CHLORIDE Not known or reported to cause reproductive or developmental toxicity. Mutagenicity: Calcium hypochlorite has been tested in the Dominant lethal assay in male mice, and it did not induce a dominant lethal response. Calcium hypochlorite has been reported to produce mutagenic activity in two in vitro assays. It has, however, been shown to lack the capability to produce mutations in animals based on results from the micronucleus assay. In vitro assays frequently are inappropriate to judge the mutagenic potential of bactericidal chemicals due to a high degree of cellular toxicity. The concentration which produces mutations in these in vitro assays is significantly greater than the concentrations used for disinfection. Based on high cellular toxicity in in vitro assays and the lack of mutagenicity in animals, the risk of genetic damage to humans is judged not significant. CALCIUM CHLORIDE This product was determined to be non-mutagenic in the Ames assay. It was also shown to be non- clastogenic in the chromosomal aberration test. Carcinogenicity: This product is not known or reported to be carcinogenic by any reference source including IARC, OSHA, NTP or EPA. One hundred mice were exposed dermally 3 times a week for 18 months to a solution of calcium hypochlorite. Histopathological examination failed to show an increased incidence of tumors. IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) reviewed studies conducted with several hypochlorite salts. IARC has classified hypochlorite salts as having inadequate evidence for carcinogenicity to humans and animals. IARC therefore considers hypochlorite salts to be not classifiable as to their carcinogenicity to humans (Group 3 Substance). Ad- ditionally, the meter does not require a valve to meet these standards. Each me- ter is performance tested to ensure com- pliance. All OMNI meters are NSF/ANSI Standard 61, Annex F and G approved latest standards. PERFORMANCE The patented measurement principles of the OMNI C2 meter assure enhanced accuracy ranges, an overall greater ac- curacy, and a longer service life than any other comparable class meter produced. The OMNI C2 meter has no restrictions as to sustained fl ow rates within its con- tinuous operating range. The fl oating ball measurement technology allows for fl ows up to its rated maximum capacity with- out undue wear or accuracy degradation when installed in any orientation. CONSTRUCTION The OMNI C2 meter consists of two basic assemblies; the maincase and the mea- suring chamber. The measuring chamber assembly includes the “fl oating ball” im- peller with a coated titanium shaft, hybrid axial bearings, integral fl ow straightener and an all electronic programmable regis- ter with protective bonnet. The maincase is made from industry proven Ductile Iron with an approved NSF epoxy coating. Maincase features are; easily removable measuring chamber, unique chamber seal to the maincase using a high pres- sure o-ring, testing port and an AWWA compliant strainer. OMNI ELECTRONIC REGISTER The OMNI C2 electronic register is her- metically sealed with an electronic pickup containing no mechanical gearing. The large character LCD displays AMR, To- talization and a Resettable Test Totalizer. OMNI register features; AMR resolution units that are fully programmable, Pulse output frequency that are fully program- mable, Integral customer data logging capability, Integral resettable accuracy testing feature compatible with UniPro Testing Assistant Program, Large, easy- to-read LCD also displays both forward and reverse fl ow directions and all with a 10-year battery life guarantee. MAGNETIC DRIVE Meter registration is achieved by utilizing a fully magnetic pickup system. This is accomplished by the magnetic actions of the embedded rotor magnets and the ultra sensitive register pickup probe. The only moving component in water is the “fl oating ball” impeller. MEASURING ELEMENT The revolutionary thermoplastic, hydro- dynamically balanced impeller fl oats between the bearings. The Floating Ball Technology (FBT) allows the measuring element to operate virtually without fric- tion or wear, thus creating the extended upper and lower fl ow ranges capable on only the OMNI C2 meter. STRAINER The OMNI C2 with the AWWA compliant “V” shaped strainer using a stainless steel screen along with Floating Ball Technol- ogy (FBT) create a design that gives far improved accuracy even in those once thought questionable settings. A remov- able strainer cover permits easy access to the screen for routine maintenance. MAINTENANCE The OMNI C2 meter is designed for easy maintenance. Should any maintenance be required, the measuring chamber and / or strainer cover can be removed inde- pendently. Parts and or a replacement measuring chamber may be utilized in the event repairs are needed. Replace- ment Measuring Chambers are available for the OMNI C2 meters and may also be utilized for retrofi tting to competitive me- ters to achieve increased accuracy and extended service life. AMR / AMI SYSTEMS: Meters and encoders are compatible with current Sensus AMR/AMI systems. GUARANTEE: Sensus OMNI C2 Meters are backed by “The Sensus Guarantee.” Ask your Sen- sus representative for details or see Bul- letin G-500. The SmartPoint 520M is designed for submersible, pit-set environments. With its migratable, two-way communication ability, the M-Series SmartPoint functions as a walk-by/drive-by endpoint, fixed base endpoint, or combination of the two. This flexibility increases utility data collection capabilities and streamlines operations. TouchCoupler Design The SmartPoint 520M Module utilizes TouchCoupler, the patented Sensus inductive coupling communication platform, to interface with the encoded meter. With TouchCoupler, the SmartPoint 520M Module can connect to the meter using existing two wire AMR installations instead of requiring utilities to access the meter to install a new three-wire connection. This results in a fast, efficient and reliable connection at minimal cost. Operation The FlexNet SmartPoint 520M Module receives input from the meter register and remotely sends data to a walk-by/ drive-by or fixed base collection device. The SmartPoint 520M Module easily migrates from walk-by/drive-by to fixed base by simply installing a Base Station. In walk-by/drive-by mode, the SmartPoint 520M Module collects data and awaits an activation signal from the Vehicle Gateway Basestation (VGB) or Hand-Held Device (HHD). Upon signal receipt, it transmits readings, the meter identification number and any alarms. As a fixed-base endpoint, the SmartPoint 520M Module interacts with one or more strategically placed Base Stations located in the utility service area. Top of the hour readings and other diagnostics are instantly forwarded to the Regional Network Interface (RNI) at time of transmission. The FlexNet system provides unmatched reliability by using expansive tower receiver coverage of metering end points, data/message redundancy, failover backup provisions and operation on FCC primary use (unshared) RF spectrum. It’s powerful, industry-leading two watt transmitter broadcasts over large distances and minimizes collection infrastructure. And once the SmartPoint is installed, its migratable, two-way system platform can be updated without requiring personnel to visit each meter and/or inconveniencing customers. Additional Smartpoint 520M Module Features The SmartPoint 520M Module obtains hourly readings and can monitor continuous flow over a programmable period of time, alerting the utility to leak conditions. In addition, the SmartPoint stores up to 840 consumption intervals (35 days of hourly consumption), providing the utility with the ability to extract detailed usage profiles for consumer information and dispute resolution. The SmartPoint also incorporates a two-port design, allowing the utility to connect multiple registers and ancillary devices (such as acoustic monitoring) to a single SmartPoint. This results in a compact installation that saves time, space and money - without reducing system performance.
