ED69564 CASE# 23-6340 OF COLLISION 06/04/23 20:23 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE RPD CASE#: 23-06340 RECORDED ON AXON *This incident was captured on my body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. * On 06.04.2023, at approximately 2030 hours, I was dispatched to a two-vehicle, injury, blocking collision in the area of 1900 Lind Ave SW, in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. I was assigned to uniformed marked patrol in the City of Renton, WA, the County of King. I was operating a fully marked Renton Police Tahoe #277, equipped with "POLICE" markings, overhead exterior lights, and audible siren. I was wearing my department-issued uniform, including a fully equipped duty belt, exterior ballistic vest with "POLICE" stenciled on the front and back and Renton Police badge affixed to the left breast. I was also wearing my department-issued jumpsuit with "POLICE" patches on both shoulders and across the rear shoulders. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person I was a police officer. I was assigned as 302. At the time of this incident, it was clear, dry and dusk. The temperature was approximately 64 degrees, and the roadway was clean and dry. Lind Ave SW is a 4-lane roadway with a visible 35 mph speed limit. Lind Ave SW runs north and southbound. SW 19th ST is a 3-lane roadway with a posted 25 mph speed limit. SW 19th ST runs east and westbound. At approximately 2026:09 hours, dispatched updated the call notes with the following: "WRIGHT, SUSI/INVOL Phone: 206/437-1646 IDCCode: 25R1 Comment: VEHS BILK LIND, UNABLE TO MOVE, PT IN GRY FORD FOCUS, CONSC, BLEEDING FROM HEAD." Renton Fire Authority was dispatched, and Sgt. Trader and Officer Gorajewski arrived on scene prior to me. I arrived on scene at 2033 hours and observed both vehicles were heavily damaged, the roadway was blocked in both directions and two tows were needed. Dispatch was updated and Bankers towing sent two. Unit 01 was identified as a dark gray in color Ford Focus bearing WA/BFG9549. Unit 01 had extensive damage to the front bumper/hood and undercarriage and was leaking fluids. Further, Unit 01 had a combination of airbag deployments and was inoperable -Bankers towing was notified. Unit 01's driver was identified by her WADL as Wright, Susan Marie (DOB: 11.10.1993). Wright matched the photo shown on her WADL and she was bleeding from a cut on the left portion of her forehead. Wright stated she was traveling eastbound on SW 19th ST and as she approached the intersection with Lind Ave SW, she stopped at the stop sign. Wright thought the roadway was clear she pulled out and proceeded straight, eastbound on Lind Ave SW, when she was struck by Unit 02, who was traveling southbound on Lind Ave SW. Unit 01 had a front seat passenger, who was not injured. Wright was transported to Valley Medical Center via Tri-Med with non-life-threatening injuries. Unit 02 was identified as a white in color Honda Odyssey bearing WA/AVR9098. Unit 02 had extensive damage to the front bumper/hood, and front passenger side tire, had a combination of airbag deployments and was not operable-Bankers towing was notified. Unit 02's driver was identified by her WADL Aguirre Verduzco, Catalina (DOB: 11.26.1962). Aguirre Verduzco matched the photo shown on her WADL. Aguirre Verduzco stated she was traveling southbound Lind Ave SW, occupying the left lane of travel. Aguirre Verduzco was traveling straight ahead when she states the driver of Unit 01 pulled out in front of her at the intersection of SW 19th ST. Aguirre Verduzco did not have a traffic signal light whereas the driver of Unit 01 had a posted stop sign. Both Unit 01 and 02 were towed by Bankers towing. I completed a SECTOR impound form for Unit 01 as the driver was transported to the hospital. Unit 01's driver, as Wright, Susan Marie (DOB: 11.10.1993), is the causing party in this collision by failing to yield the right of way, in violation of RCW 46.61.180.1. 1 issued Wright SECTOR citation#: 3AO376155 for the above listed violation.
