SUBJECT: Appointment to Airport Advisory Committee
Ordinance 5260 amending Section 2-17-2 Membership of Chapter 17, Airport Advisory
Committee, of Title II (commissions and boards) of Ordinance 4260 states that each
neighborhood and each airport position shall have a voting member and an alternate
member. Currently, the Kennydale neighborhood is represented by Marleen Mandt in
the primary position and Mark Hancock in the alternate position. Mark Hancack has •
indicated that he will be resigning his seat on the committee as he is looking for a new
place to live outside of the Renton city limits. Marcie Palmer, a current resident of
Kennydale, has expressed an interest in serving on the committee.
Upon speaking to both parties, Airport staff makes the following recommendation:
1. Accept Mark Hancock's letter of resignation as the Kennydale alternate
representative to the committee.
2. Accept Marcie Palmer's application to fill the newly vacated Kennydale alternate
position for the remainder of Mark Hancock's term, which will expire
May 7, 2017.
Ms. Palmer will represent Kennydale in the alternate position until the term expires.
