Thank you, really appreciate your consideration. Attached, the 25 year and 100 year conveyance calcs.
25 year – we modeled CB 13 to CB 12 to CB 11 shown at 10.5 inches (two sticks of pipe)
100 year - If we model CB 13 to CB 12 to CB 11 AND modeling of CB 13 to CB 15 as 11.5 inches (three sticks of pipe but bigger pipes).

Michael:
Ok, we have results. The good, the bad, and the Consideration. Reattaching the Belly Exhibit and a new Pipe Capacity Exhibit, for ease.
The Rules: 12” pipes that have bellies 1” or below will need to be modeled as 10” pipes and 12” pipes with 1+” bellies will need to be modeled as 9”.
The Results: Using the rules above, the conveyance system works everywhere except CB 13 to CB 12 to CB 11 (two sticks of pipe).
The Reason: Area of 12” pipe = 113.09 sq in, with a 1+ inch belly, the Rules reduce the area of 9” pipe = 63.59 sq in – this is an equated 56% of the pipe capacity (greatly reduced).
The Consideration: if we model CB 13 to CB 12 to CB 11 (two sticks of pipe) with a 10.5” pipe, everything works.
Here is how we justify it…. with a 1+ inch belly in a 12 inch pipe we would reduce the capacity from 113.09 sq in to 104.93 sq in, or 92.78% of the pipe capacity (see below).
But we will take it one step further and model a true 10.5” pipe, which would reduce the capacity from 113.09 sq in to 86.59 sq in, or 76.56% of the pipe capacity (see below).
The Consideration: So, would the City be ok with us modeling CB 13 to CB 12 to CB 11 (two sticks of pipe) with a 10.5” pipe? If so, we are good-to-go.
The Backup Plan (if necessary): Pro-Vac can run a “SAG REMOVER” at the problem area CB 13 to CB 12 to CB 11 (two sticks of pipe) to try to correct the belly in the pipe. It is not guaranteed,
but it is an option. It works by using pneumatic force to lift the pipe up and then vibration to allow the pipe bedding around the area to settle into place. There is a 1.5-minute video
explaining the operation, link: https://youtu.be/bp7u-T5N4aI?si=2DxK_E4vrskceugx <https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2Fbp7u-T5N4aI%3Fsi%3D2DxK_E4vrskceugx&dat

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
Good morning Stacia and Kyle,
I was able to confirm with stormwater department and maintenance that we will accept a hydraulic analysis in lieu of fixing the pipe bellies (assuming that they pass the analysis). What
I will need from the engineer is a conveyance capacity analysis and a backwater analysis. Provide exhibit of entire basin, including roof drains that contribute flows to the pipes.
If any of the CBs on in the anlaysis (especially where the roof drains tie into the pipe runs) are near overtopping than the analysis may need to extend into the roof drain conveyance
system. 12” pipes that have bellies 1” or below will need to be modeled as 10” pipes and 12” pipes with 1+” bellies will need to be modeled as 9”.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you,

Thanks for your attention on this matter. Just to confirm, if we can demonstrate with our calculations that this lost pipe area does not affect the conveyance system, will the city accept
these bellies?
Sorry, just clarifying, such that we are all working towards the same goal. Attached exhibit.

Mike,
Can you please provide exactly what you are needing from the engineer for each of the pipe runs that have bellies. I know we need capacity calculations for each of those runs to confirm
we have not lost capacity. Is there anything else you need from the engineer to be addressed that will be included in the formal letter from GBI.
