Criminal Citation MAY be issued. The violation(s) listed below are deemed a Class 1 Civil Infraction pursuant to Chapter
7.80 RCW, and any such person shall be assessed a monetary penalty of up to two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per
violation. Each day or portion of a day the violation(s) remain shall constitute a separate offense.

Code Text:The City of Renton Municipal Code requires building permits to be applied for and obtained by
any person, firm, or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve,
remove, convert or demolish, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the city.
Corrective Action:Immediately contact the building department within 15 calendar days of the date of this notice,
for the installation of roof signage. Respond to all plan review comments within 15 calendar
days of request. Obtain the building permit within 15 calendar days of permit approval. Call for
inspection within 15 calendar days of permit issuance. Respond to all correction notices within
15 calendar days of notice and call for re-inspection. Obtain additional permits as needed.

Code Cited:1. Local Modifications: Under the authority established by WAC 197-11-800(1)(c), the City of
Renton establishes the following exempt levels for minor new construction based on local
conditions, replacing the exempt levels of WAC 197-11-800(1)(b)(i), (ii), (iv) and (v). Whenever
the City establishes new exempt levels under this Section, it shall send them to the
Department of Ecology, Headquarters Office, Olympia, Washington, 98504 under
WAC 197-11-800(1)(c).
a. For detached single-family residential dwelling units in WAC 197-11-800(1)(b)(i): nine (9) or
less dwelling units.

dwelling units.
c. For office, commercial, or service buildings in WAC 197-11-800(1)(b)(iv): four thousand
(4,000) square feet or less of gross floor area; changes of use of four thousand (4,000) square
feet or less when located in an existing office, commercial, or service building of four thousand
(4,000) square feet or larger.
d. For landfills and excavations in WAC 197-11-800(1)(b)(v): Up to five hundred (500) cubic
yards or less.
