81 Foundations
Section 8-20.3(4) is revised and supplemented as follows:
The anchor halts shall match that of Me device to be installed thereon.
Concrete shall be placed against undisturbed earth if possible. Disturbed earth or backfill
material shall be compassed to 95 percent of the material's maximum density. Before placing
the concrete the Contractor shall block-out around any other underground carries that Ile In the
excavated base so that the concrete will not adhere to the utility line. Concrete foundations
shall be troweled, brushed edged and finished in a workmanship -like manner. Concrete shall
be promptly cleaned from the exposed portion of the anchor bolls and conduit after placement.
Foundation shall all be Class 3000 compete. After the specified curing Traded, the Contractor
may Install Me applicable device thereon.

Light standards shall he handled when leading, unloading, and erecting in such a manner that
they will not be damaged. Any pans that are damaged due to the Contractors operations shall
be repaired or replaced at the Contractors expense, to the satisfaction of Me Engineer.
Light standards shall not be erected on concrete foundations until foundations have set at least
72 hours or attained a compressive strength of 2.400 psi, and shall be raked sufficiently to be
plumb after all load has been placed, or as p(hervme directed by Me Engineer.
Light Standards shall be credact in accomance with section 8-20.314).
Anchor bolts shall extend through the top M1eavy-hex nut two, of threads to the extent Possible

Anchor Base:
A one piece anchor base of adequate strength, shape and size shall be secured to Me Inner
end of the shaft so Mat Me base shall be capable of resisting at its yield pant Me bantling
moment of Me shaft at its yield point. The base shall be provided with four sbded or round
holes to receive the anchor bolls. Nut covets shall be provided with each poke.
Anchor BOBS:

Miscellaneous Hardware:
All hardware (bolts, nuts, screws, washes, etc.) needed to complete Me installation shall be

I.D. (Identification for poles):
The Contractor shall supply and install a combination of 4 - Ttllgits and one letter on each pole,
Whether individual lumdaire or signal pole with luminaire. The letter and numbers combination
shall be mounted at Me 15 foot level an lie pole facing approaching traffic. Legends shall be
added with transparent film, resistant to door "sell and ultraviolet exposure. The decal
markets shall be 2 -1a -inch square with yellow reflectorized 2 -inch legend on a black
background.
The I.D. number will be assigned to each pole at Me end of the contract or project by the
Transportation Maintenance Assistant Manager and tooMinated through the City Inspector.
Cost for the recalls shall be considered Incidental to Me contract bid.
Light standards shall meet the pole detail requirement below and the detail sheets on the
approved plan documents.
The pole shaft shall be provided With a 4" x 6' flush hand hole near the base and a matching
metal cover secured with stainless steel screws or bolts.

Anchor Base:
A one piece anchor base of adequate strength, shape and size shall be secured to Me Inner
end of the shaft so Mat Me base shall be capable of resisting at its yield pant Me bantling
moment of Me shaft at its yield point. The base shall be provided with four sbded or round
holes to receive the anchor bolls. Nut covets shall be provided with each poke.
Anchor BOBS:
Four steal anchor bolts, as& flttid with two hex nuts and has washers, shall be fumishad with
the pole. Anchor hefts shall meet Me requirements of Section 9-06.5(3) and 9-08.5(4). The
anchor bolt yield point shall be capable of warning Me bending moment of the pole shaft at its
yield point. The Contractor shall assure that all anchor bolts conform to the recommended
ASTM specifications M me pole manufacturer ant shall secure and submit be Me City fat
approval all manufacturer data on pole bending moment, anchor bolt fabrication data, lest
results and any other data Mal may be required to confirm that the anchor bolts meat these
specifications.
Miscellaneous Hardware:
All hardware (bolts, nuts, screws, washes, etc.) needed to complete Me installation shall be
stainless steel.
I.D. (Identification for poles):
The Contractor shall supply and install a combination of 4 - Ttllgits and one letter on each pole,
Whether individual lumdaire or signal pole with luminaire. The letter and numbers combination
shall be mounted at Me 15 foot level an lie pole facing approaching traffic. Legends shall be
added with transparent film, resistant to door "sell and ultraviolet exposure. The decal
markets shall be 2 -1a -inch square with yellow reflectorized 2 -inch legend on a black
background.
The I.D. number will be assigned to each pole at Me end of the contract or project by the
Transportation Maintenance Assistant Manager and tooMinated through the City Inspector.
Cost for the recalls shall be considered Incidental to Me contract bid.
Light standards shall meet the pole detail requirement below and the detail sheets on the
approved plan documents.
The pole shaft shall be provided With a 4" x 6' flush hand hole near the base and a matching
metal cover secured with stainless steel screws or bolts.
The pole shall be adjusted far plumb after all needed equipment has been installed thereon.
After pole is installed aid plumbed nuts shall be tightened on anchor bobs using proper sa ed
