Hobson MAY 3 12001 Waste Water Utility CITY OF RENTOj 1055 S. Grady Way UTILITY SYSTEMS Renton, WA 98055 Subject: East Kennydale Sewer Infill Project Survey Proposal No. 211.01 Dear John: We are familiar with the project area, having surveyed various sites within the section. For purposes of estimating, we will treat the project as 5,850 feet in length. Because each project is different in length and it is obvious that one could not apply the same price per foot for a project of 100 feet as one of 4000 feet, it is necessary to start with a basic price (mobilization price), together with a price per foot. We are using a mobilization price of$1000, plus $5.00 per foot for streets. This is average for a sanitary sewer project based on your desired scope of work. T - t including s -T—crk,- i o7 T- sr I S 4 41Z,vo DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED WORK Phase 1 Purpose: The preparation of a base map for future design Area of Coverage: See attached exhibit maps. Description: ► All surveying will be tied to City of Renton NAD 83/91 horizontal control points and NAVD 88 vertical points. All survey work shall be conducted in accordance with City of Renton requirements. ► An electronic design locate will be ordered. ► Establish right-of-way centerline and boundaries ► Install P.K. nails in centerline at intervals of 200 feet and paint marks at intervals of 50 feet for later construction staking and as-built survey. Maximum distance between bench marks to be 1000 feet in distance or 100 feet in elevation. ► Show spot elevations on hard surfaces on a separate layer. ► Show all data and 10 feet beyond right-of-way lines. ► Show topopgraphy lines at 1 foot intervals. ► Show control points with elevations, point numbers, coordinates & description in a map table. ► Show all known utilities, note size, type, invert elevations and direction of flow. ► Show all prominent landmarks ► Show front edge of houses, house numbers, property lines and right-of-way lines. ► One print for each street for review purposes. City will prepare plan and profile sheets. ► Project shall be prepared in AutoCAD version 2000. ► Two sets of prints will be provided for review, pickups will be made and two sets provided for final review. ► Projects: Disk or CD. Task 1: Supervision, research and centerline control survey Objective: Establish centerline of the streets, elevate the stations, set bench marks and provide project coordination. Approach: Intersections Recover or set P.K.nails and aluminum washer or equal at street intersections Centerline Control Set P.K. nail or equal at each street and label with appropriate station. Set P.K. nails along the centerline of the streets at 200 foot interval stations. Run levels and elevate 200 foot stations and control points. Bench Marks Run a level loop through the horizontal control, and set at least one bench mark at each street intersection and/or as called for in description of the work. Task 2: Calculations Objective: Establish coordinates and elevations for control points and fix street intersections and right-of-way lines. The scope of work should match that of a previous survey project that your firm performed for us(copy enclosed). I have made a couple of edits to the enclosed proposal. In addition to the utility base map survey, we need elevations reset on a couple of benchmarks that were disturbed. Benchmarks#71 and#250 were disturbed during a recent utility project on Aberdeen Avenue NE. The monuments were reset after construction although elevations were no reestablished. I have included monument cards to be filled out and returned for the City's files. I have enclosed the following information for your use: • King County Assessor Maps • Plat Maps • All available utility design and as-built drawings for the associated areas • City of Renton survey bench marks and monument information If you have any questions, please call me at 425-430-7279.
