HomeMy WebLinkAboutWWP272955(7) From: Abdoul Gafour To: Hobson, John Date: 10/30/02 5:09PM Subject: Fwd: Water Line Installation John: Could you pass Ray Sled's questions on to the inspector? All hydrants shall be new. (see standard specs. 1-06.1)- Collucio needs to remove all "used" hydrant(s) and replaced them with new ones. In addition, all hydrants shall have two field coats of new paint. Regarding the tail piece behind the setter, the contractor needs to install a minimum of 1 foot long section of copper pipe from the back side of the setter, then extend the copper pipe past the property line by one- foot, and install a compression fitting at the end. They also need to connect the private piping to the tail piece at the compression fitting. Please refer to the standard detail for 3/4-inch meter. This is important since it is the location where we determine whose responsibility it is when we get called out to repair a leak. Mark: I am sending you a copy of this, since Collucio's crew may pull the same stuff on the Morris Ave South job. this is a copy of e-mail from Ray Sled on 10/30/02 Rick and Abdoul, I have two questions. The first is do you know that the contractor used a used hydrant on NE 24th and Monterey Ave NE. Then there were no new tail pieces installed when the setters were replaced. I was hoping that the tail pieces would be replaced any way. So can you let me know what is up we are doing the walk through now. I own a home at 1716 Monterey Court NE, Renton,WA 98056. I have never received any notification about the incoming sewer. I have tenants in my home and am living out of state. I would like you to send me copies of all of the required documentation at the address below and request that you send a copy to my tenants, attn: Kerry Lebel, at the address above. I do not intend to take the sewer system to my home at this time. Therefore, I would like my tenants to be inconvenienced as little as possible with the work on our street. I am aware that there is a stake to be placed for plumbing up to my property. I would like the stake to be placed/line to be run to a location behind the row of trees at the front of my property on the side of the driveway which has my mailbox. I believe that my neighbors on the other side of the driveway will need that side of their property to run their own plumbing, but I look for your suggestion as to what is easiest for the city--with one major exception. Along the front of my property, behind the sidewalk and on both sides of the driveway are mature trees which provide privacy and value to my home. It also effects my ability to lease my home to my tenants, which was necessary due to my search for work outside of the area due to my Boeing lay-off. I cannot afford to have ANY of the trees damaged by the city to place the sewer lines in our street. I need your reassurance that you can dig below and between the trees and keep them in tact. If you go see my home, you will see how large they are and what an integral part of the property they are. If you remove even one tree you will change it irrevolkably. Please visit our street and let me know how you can help me. Thank you. These mailings were sent to the address that is on file with the King County Assessors Office(copy of record attached). You may wish to have the County update this information with your new address. The phone number for the King County Assessors office is 206-296-0923. The assessment of$6,122.35 is an estimate based on the City's project construction estimate. When the project is finished, the actual total cost will be used to determine the final assessment amount. This amount will not exceed $6,122.35.
