Dear John:
Please note the following items must to be corrected prior to final acceptance:
1. All storm sewer manholes marked in red need to be hot patched.
2. All valve boxes within Williams Avenue and Wells Avenue need to hot patched.
3. All fire hydrants shall have blue reflector buttons glued on pavement per Renton standard
detail BR24.
4. Fire hydrant at Sta. 54+50,Rt. 24' is too low such that the"break off'bolts are
embedded in the concrete sidewalk. Contractor to install6"riser on fire hydrant and
restore sidewalk, as required.

The Planning/Building/Public Works Department has selected through competitive selection
process, a consultant to perform a pre-design of treatment improvements for the wellfield. The
pre-design will include piloting and evaluation of technologies to remove manganese and
ammonia as well as hydrogen sulfide and iron. The deliverables of the contract will include
information for selecting the treatment improvements: capital cost, operation and maintenance
costs,taste and odor profiles, staffing requirements, plant footprint, etc. and alsothe development
of a Project Report for submittal to the Department of Health.
Funding for this portion of the contract will be from the Water Utility 2001 Capital Improvement
Project budget.
The final design and services during construction portion of the contract will be determined after
the completion of the pre-design and cost-estimates. We anticipate providing the City Council
with more information and cost-estimates along with our request for approval of a funding
schedule after the completion of the pre-design report.
