Please let me know when the contractor will be performing this work, as I may want to observe the pipe bursting method of construction for future use on Surface Water Utility CIP's. • CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECTS IN THE GYPSY BASIN Account Number(W.O.#/Function#): 421.000600.018.5960.0038.65.65160(65160/5460) These projects include the installation of approximately 160 linear feet of 30" CPEP, 60 linear feet of 36" CPEP, and one Type 2 catch basin at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Monterey Place NE at minimum slopes of 5%and 3%respectively; along with the installation of approximately 100 linear feet of 24" CPEP at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and NE 43rd Street at a minimum slope of 3%. The quote from Kohl Excavating Inc. for a total project cost of$38,742.09 (including sales tax) is acceptable. The construction of these culvert replacement projects needs to be monitored closely. Since there are no engineering plans for the construction of these projects, the control of material quantities used during the construction has to be monitored, or the final cost could be substantially different than the initial quote price. Please provide copies of all payments made to the contractors on these projects. We will need to know the total project cost and the final length of pipe installed at the end of the project so that we can include the information in our 1996 Annual Report to Finance.
