The City wishes to thank you for granting permission to install, operate, and maintain the gaging station. We needed permission from SP Oil because the width of the creek does not permit the proposed stream gage to be located entirely in the 40-foot right-of-way owned by King County Drainage District No. 1. A portion of the gaffe will be slightly on SP Oil property. The purpose of the gages is continuous measurement of the water levels in Springbrook Creek essential for the City's watershed planning and operation processes. To convert the water level data into flow quantity information we will be making stream velocity measurements from the bridge over Springbrook Creek located approximately 400 feet north of SW 27th Street. Thank you for granting permission to walk BP Oil property in order to confirm that any overflow of Springbrook Creek onto BP Oil property will return to the creek without circumventing the bridge. I appreciate your taking time to meet with me and for your quick response. Please sign in the space provided below to Indicate your concurrence and return a copy to the address shown on the letterhead. It would be appreciated If you would also fax a copy to 206.235-2541. Nelson Company: King County Drainage District #1 Attorney Phone: 854-7200 Fax: 854-8960 From: Scott Woodbury Company: City of Renton Phone: 277-5547 Fax: 235-2541 Date: 09/13/93 Pages including this cover page: 2 Comments: The City of Renton requests approval to install, maintain, and operate stream gaging instruments on District property at Springbrook Creek and SW 27th Street. The instruments will be housed in PVC piping installed vertically in the stream bank and hydraulically connected to the stream. The gages are proposed to be located near the upstream and downstream ends of the culverts under SW 27th Street. The purpose of the gages is continuous measurement of the water levels in Springbrook Creek essential for the City's watershed planning and operation processes. The City also requests District approval to make stream flow measurements from the bridge across Springbrook Creek located approximately 400 feet north of SW 27th Street. These measurements will be useful in converting the water level data collected at SW 27th Street into flow information. Please call me at 277-5547 to discuss this proposal as soon as possible.
