I am looping this back to Jason at City Hall, hoping to find out if a determination has been made on an initiative number for this petition. Jason, I have been told here that the City assigns initiative measure numbers, although, in a separate email I understood that KCE assigns this number. It is my hope, if still possible and if a number hasn't yet been assigned, to assign I-19 or I-119 as the initiative number as our campaign hopes to assign a unique identifying number for this measure. Please let me know if this is still possible! Apologies for any confusion in my misunderstanding of this step of the process. Thank you, Guillermo On Fri, Jul 7, 2023 at 9:20 AM Election, Services <Election.Services@kingcounty.gov> wrote: Hi Guillermo, Thank you for reaching out regarding the petition. 1 Initiative measure numbers are assigned by the City. Typically, the initiative measure numbers are sequential, starting with #1 for the very first initiative in the city and increasing as they receive more initiatives. I have one question regarding the Initiative number. Unfortunately we were not aware we had the option of choosing one, if it's not too late, we have listed some below in order of preference, we are unsure the rules around what numbers are allowed or not allowed. Initiative 19 2 Initiative 119 Initiative 145 Initiative 145 Please do let us know if these are available. In order to prevent any undue delay or disruption to the canvassing process, King County Elections will limit the number of observers to a maximum two (2) observers on each side. We will also be updating our website with the number of signatures verified at the end of each day and you can virtually watch staff process the petition.
