Thank you for the email. This is our standard practice when reviewing petitions that do not contain
enough signatures. We do not review petition signers in this case.
This decision does not affect any resubmission of this petition in the future. Any resubmission should be
coordinated with the City clerks of Renton. Any pages submitted to us by the City clerks office will be re-
examined.

Hello Jacob,
I wanted to ask a clarifying question. Our intention is to resubmit the petition with more signatures by the end of August
with the required signatures needed. If this is the case, does it help to have this additional batch of signatures reviewed
and verified? Prior to returning them back to us.
We intend to resubmit our petition to the City. Thank you.

Good afternoon Jason,
The letter of insufficiency for the City of Renton Initiative Measure No. 23-01 is attached. Please
note 1,081 signatures were submitted with the supplemental pages on August 4, 2023. The
number of additional signatures submitted was less than the additional 2,226 valid signatures
needed to meet the required 8,913 valid signatures. Therefore, it has been determined that the
petition is insufficient.
Also, the petition is ready to be returned to the City of Renton. If you could let me know when
the petition will be picked up approximately that will be helpful.

Hi Jason,
We’ve completed verification of the signatures submitted to our office for City of Renton Initiative
Measure No. 23-01 petition. Of the signatures that were compared against those on file with our office, it
was determined that the required number of 8,913 was not determined to be registered voters.
Therefore, it is determined that the petition is insufficient. The letter of insufficiency is attached.
Please note that Tuesday, August 1, 2023, is the deadline to place measures on the ballot for the
November 7, 2023, General Election.
