Project Narrative
The site is located at 2615 Sunset Blvd NE., and is paved except for a small area of hard
packed gravel. We propose to pave this gravel area, measuring about 2400 square feet.
See figures attached below for illustration of proposed paving and lot boundaries.
Refer to "Offsite Analysis, 4. Down stream Analysis" in this report for the drainage
route, which is to remain unchanged. Consequently, the site grade is to remain
unchanged too. In this respect one should take care to keep the area sloping down to the
catch basin at the NW. corner of the property. The grades on site are less or equal to 4%.
The underlaying soil is classified as Ragnar-Indianola association, sloping(RdC). They
consist of fine sandy loam and loamy fine sand, with up to 15%very gravelly sand. See
SCS soils map under"Offsite Analysis"below.

3. Field inspection
Thurs. 4-29-99 1:30pm, sunny
-Existing inlet at NE corner of site is plugged w. debris.
- On the South boundary is a steep sloped open area, sloping down+/-20 ft. to 9`h pl. NE.
- Type-I cb. at NW corner takes almost all runoff. It is situated in a small 0.5' depression
and will catch runoff well, discharges through 8"conc. pipe which is of ample capacity.

4. Drainage System Description
For a '/4 mile (1320 ft.) the site runoff follows the Sunset Blvd. storm drain system to the
West, to a point near the I-405 off-ramp. The following description of the downstream
system relates to the WSHC drainage plan copy that are enclosed below. The reference
numbers may refer to more than 1 component. The down stream storm drain system
hasn't got any apparent problems.
—Refer to attached plan sheet 52, and City of Renton Surface Water Map below:
The NE corner of the site drains to an inlet there, which also collects the runoff from the
lot to the East. The inlet needs to be cleaned out, though. This drain leads to 1 of 3 solid
lid type-I catch basins in the East bound lanes(11). The rest of the site drains to its NW
corner, where a type-I catch basin collects all runoff. From that catch basin an 8"
concrete pipe discharges to the storm drain system under Sunset Blvd NE., to the 3`d
solid lid catch basin in the Eastbound lanes(11). From there a 73 ft. 12"pipe @ 4%
conveys storm water to a manhole(8), from where an 18"pipe leads SW 400', across NE
9`h Pl., to a manhole at Ferndale Circle. The water is then conveyed 1000' West thru 18"
concrete pipe under 9 h Pl.,to 9 h ay. NE, and from there to the storm drain system along
Sunset Blvd. Eventually the water flows into Lake Washington.
5. Mitigation does not apply.
