No. PP&FP-513-68; property located on R Street between 7th Ave. N. and 8th Pl. N. The Chairman described the preliminary and final plat application and read a letter from the Engineering Department stating the plat had been examined by their department and it complies with the engineering requirements of the Platting Ordinance. The letter stated further that the portion of property proposed for access to Kiwanis Park had been deeded to the City, and the Engineering Department will require the widening of R Street northerly of 7th Avenue WN. to provide full access to the plat. The Engineering Department recommended approval of the plat as presented. Upon inquiry by the Commission, the Planning Director stated that as there were no changes in this plat from the plat previously approved by the Commission and Council, and as both preliminary and final platting fees had been paid, the staff had. no objection to the simultaneous approval of both preliminary and final plat as requested by the developer. Further comments were invited. There were none. Moved by Denzer, seconded by Stredicke, that the hearing be closed. Motion carried unanimously. The proposed use of this property is for a convalescent eare facility. The facility will be constructed in cooperation with the Valley Medical Center, which will be developed on the adjacent property, as shown on the enclosed site plan. Studies are now being made as to the feasibility of inter- “connecting these facilities with a pneumatic tube and intercom system, in order to utilize a common lab- oratory. Construction drawings are now being prepared - €or-the convalescent center, and all efforts are being made to utilize the most modern and technologically advanced methods and equipment, to assure that the facility will be of the highest quality.
