WhEREAS,the basis for the continuity of any society is education;and in the city of Renton,
the education of our youth is a priority;and
‘WHEREAS,to achieve its highest goals,education must not only impart knowledge but also
teach students how to live,forming and strengthening their moral character to make a better life
for themselves as individuals and for society as a whole;and
MTHEREAS,the Rebbe,Rabbi Menachem M.Schneerson,stressed that a moral and ethical
education empowers every individual to develop their full potential in making the world a better
place;and
MTHEREAS,such an education can nurture the unity of diverse peoples through encouraging
increased acts of goodness and kindness,imbued with the awareness that even a single positive
act of an individual can make a difference;and
MTHEREAS,for more than forty years the President of the United States has recognized and
honored the Rebbe’s vision each year by proclaiming “Education &Sharing Day USA”;
NOW THEREFORE,I,Armondo Pavone,Mayor of the City of Renton,do hereby proclaim
April 19,2024 to be
EDUCATION &SHARING DAY
in the City of Renton,and I encourage all government officials,educators,volunteers,and citizens
to reach out to those within your communities and work to create a better,brighter,and more
hopeful future for all.
IN WITNESS THEREOF,I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal
of the City of Renton to be affixed this 19th day of April,2024.
