SURFACE LOCATED MARKERS, PER TYPICAL DETAIL ON SHEET C503o. MARKERS SHALL BE LOCATED AT MAXIMUM
INTERVALS OF 150 FT, AT ALL CHANGES OF DIRECTION, WITHIN 5 FT OF A WAil, AT ALL MANHOLES AND VALVE BOXES,
AND ADJACENT TO ROADS. MARKERS SHOULD INDICATE SERVICE, PIPE SIZE, DIRECTION OF FLDW, PIPE MATERIAL AND PIPE

GENERAL NOTES EXCAVATION, GRADING AND PAVING
9. PRIOR TO ANY BACKFllllNG OF NEW PIPE, IT SHALL BE INSPECTIED BY A BOEING REPRESENTATIVE· TO INSURE THAT,
PIPE CONFORMS TO THE PROJECT STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S
RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE BOEING REPRESENTATIVE 24 HRS IN ADVANCE OF BACKFIWNG ALL CONSTRUCTION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AS-BUILT INFORMAilON IN THE FORM OF RED-MARKED DRAWINGS TO THE ENGINEER.
10. ASPHALT AND CONCRETE PAVING TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE SAWCUT TO A MIN. DEPTH OF TWO INCHES AT REMOVAL
BOUNDARIES. ALL SURFACE CONCRETIE, PAVEMENT, SIDEWALKS, CURBS, GUTTERS, AND DRIVEWAY APPROACHES SHALL BE

' SEDIMENTATION CONTROL NOTES
1. APPROVAL OF THIS TIEMPORARY EROSION/SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PLAN (TESCP) DOES NOTE CONSTITUTE
AN APPROVAL OF PERMANENT ROAD OR DRAINAGE DESIGN (E.G. SIZE AND LOCATION OF ROADS, PIPES,
RESTRICTORS, CHANNELS, RETENTION FACILlilES, UTILITIES, ETC.)
2. TIHE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS TESCP AND THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, REPcACEMENT AND
UPGRADING OF THESE TESCP FACILITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION
IS COMPLETED ANO APPROVED BY TIHE CITY.
3. THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CLEARING LIMITS SHO\\N ON THIS PLAN SHALL BE CLEARLY FLAGGED OR

9. THE TESCP FACILITIES ON INACTIVE SITIES SHALL BE INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED A MINIMUM OF ONCE A

10. AT NO TIME SHALL MORE TIHAN ONE FOOT OF SEDIMENT BE ALLOWED TO ACCUMULATE WITHIN A CATCH
BASIN OR PRE-TREATMENT/SILT POND OR SILT TRAP. All CATCH BASINS AND CONVEYANCE LINES SHALL BE
CLEANED PRIOR TO PAv1NG. THE CLEANING OPERATION SHAil NOT FLUSH SEDIMENT-LADEN WATER INTO THE
DOWNSTREAM SYSTEM.
11. STABILIZED CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES AND WASH PADS f'ER CITY STANDARDS, SHALL BE INSTALLED AT
TIHE BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTAINED FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT. ADDITIONAL
MEASURES MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF INSURE THAT ALL PAVED AREAS ARE KEPT CLEAN FOR THE
DURATION OF THE PROJECT.
12. DURING THE TIME PERIOD OF NOVEMBER 1 THROUGH MARCH 31, DISTURBED AREAS THAT ARE TO.BE LEFT
UNWORKED WITHIN THE PROJECT LJMITS FOR MORE THAN 2 DAYS SHALL BE COVERED BY ONE OF THE
FOLLO\IING COVER MEASURES: MULCH, SOD OR PLASTIC COVERING.
13. ANY PERMANENT RETENTION/DETENTION FACILITY USED AS A TEMPORARY SETILJNG BASIN SHALL BE
MODIFIED \\1TIH THE NECESSARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AND SHALL PROVIDE ADEQUATE STORAGE
CAPACITY AND SHALL BE CLEANED OUT ENilRELY WITH PROPER DISCHARGE OF WASTEWATER (I.E. SANITARY
DISCHARGE). IF THE PERMANENT FACILJTY IS TO FUNCTION ULTIMATIELY AS AN INflLTRATION SYSTEM, THE
FACILITY SHALL NOT BE USED AS A TEMPORARY SETTLING BASIN.
14. WHERE SEEDING FOR TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL IS REQUIRED, FAST GERMINATING GRASSES SHALL BE
APPLIED AT AN APPROPRIATE RATE (E.G. ANNUAL OR PERENNIAL RYE APPLIED AT APPROXIMATELY 80 POUNDS
PER ACRE).
15. WHERE STRAW MULCH FOR TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL IS REQUIRED, IT SHALL BE APPUED AT A
MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 3 INCHES, OR 3,000 POUNDS/ ACRE.
16. AS CONSTRUCTION PROGRESSES AND UNEXPECTED SEASONAL CONDITIONS DICTATIE, AND AS TIHE CITY
REQUIRES, THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD ANTICIPATIE TIHAT MORE TESCP MEASURES Will BE NECESSARY TO
PROTECT ADJACENT PROPERTIES AND ENSURE MINIMUM WATER QUALITY FOR SITE RUNOFF. IT SHALL BE TIHE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO ADDRESS DEFICIENT TIESCP CONDITIONS AND PROv1DE ADDITIONAL

SILT FENCE INSTALLATION NOTES
1. THE FILTER FABRIC SHALL BE MIRAFl 700X OR APPR0v1ED EQUAL, AND SHAil BE PURCHASED IN A
CONTINUOUS ROLL CUT TO THE LENGTIH OF THE BARRIER TO AVOID USE OF JOINTS. 'I/HEN JOINTS ARE
NECESSARY, FILTER FABRIC SHAUL BE SPUCED TOGETHER ONLY .AT A SUPPORT POST WITH A MINIMUM .
6-INCH OVERLAP, AND BOTH ENDS OF THE SPLICE SHAUL BE SECURELY FASTENED TO THE POST.
2. TIHE SILT FENCE SHALL BE INSTAllED TO FOLLOW THE CONTOURS WliERE FEASIBLE. TIHE FENCE
POSTS SHALL BE SPACED BET\\£EN 4 FEET TO A MAXIMUM OF 6 FEET APART AND PLACED SECURELY INTO
THE GROUND TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF 18 INCHES.
3. A SHALLOW SWALE SHALL BE EXCAVATED, ROUGHLY 6 INCHES WIDE AND 6 INCHES DEEP, UPSLOPE
AND ADJACENT TO THE WOOD POSTS TO ALLOW THE LOWER EDGE OF FILTER FABRIC. TO BE SECURED. WITH
GRAVE.
4. 'I/HEN FILTER FABRIC NOT AS STRONG AS MIRAFI 7DOX IS APPROVED FOR USE, A WIRE MESH SUPPORT
FENCE SHALL BE FASTENED SECURELY TO TIHE UPSLOPE SIDE OF THE POSTS USING HEAVY DUTY \\1RE
STAPLES AT LEAST 1 INCH LONG, TIE WIRES, OR HOG" RINGS. THE \\IRE MESH SHAll EXTEND INTO THE
SHALLOW SWALE A MINIMUM 4 INCHES AND SHAil NOT EXTEND MORE THAN 36 INCHES ABOVE THE
ORIGINAL GROUND SURFACE.
5. THE MIRAFI 7DOX FILTER FABRIC SHALL BE STAPLED OR WIRED TO THE FENCE, AND AT LEAST 20
INCHES OF TIHE FABRIC SHALL BE LAID INTO THE SHALLOW SWALE. THE FlLTER FABRIC SHAil NOT EXTIEND
MORE THAN 36 INCHES ABOVE THE ORIGINAL GROUND SURFACE AND SHALL NOT BE STAPLED TO TREES.
6. THE SHALLOW SWALE AND BOTH SIDES OF THE SILT FENCE SHALL BE BACKFILLED l'IITIH 1 INCH TO
1-1/2 INCH DIAMETER WASHED GRAVEL AFTER TIHE SILT FENCE IS INSTALLED.
7. SILT FENCES SHAil BE REMOVED WHEN THEY HAVE SERVED THEIR USEFUL, PURPOSE, BUT NOT BEFORE
THE UPSLOPE AREA HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY STABILIZED. THE NEWILY DISTURBED AREAS RESULTING FROM
SILT FENCE REMOVAL SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY SEEDED AND MULCHED, OR OTHERWISE PERMANENTLY
STABILIZED TO THE SATISFACTION OF TIHE CITY.
