Please refer to the enclosed ERC Report and Decision for more details. Appeals of the environmental determination must be filed in writing on or before 5:00 p.m. on August 26, 2024. Appeals must be submitted electronically to the City Clerk at cityclerk@rentonwa.gov or delivered to City Hall 1st floor Lobby Hub Monday through Friday. The appeal fee, normally due at the time an appeal is submitted, will be collected at a future date if your appeal is submitted electronically. The appeal submitted in person may be paid on the first floor in our Finance Department. Appeals to the Hearing Examiner are governed by RMC 4-8-110 and additional information regarding the appeal process may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office, cityclerk@rentonwa.gov. If the Environmental Determination is appealed, a public hearing date will be set and all parties notified. This DNS is issued after using the optional DNS process in WAC 197-11- 355. There is no further comment period. It is revised to be consistent with the King County Countywide Planning Policies. The update is also being revised in response to input from residents, business owners, and other stakeholders. Key Comp Plan Update Goals: 1) Ensure consistency across elements with Land Use Element growth assumptions, 2) Ensure consistency with the Department of Commerce checklist, PSRC VISION 2050 checklist, and the King County CPP’s, 3) Promote equity and inclusion, 4) Maintain page numbers of element, 5) Update images, graphs, etc and 6) Include general language edits for clarity and consistency. Per WAC197-11-340(2)(c) any person, affected tribe, or agency may submit comments to the City within fourteen days of the date of issuance of the DNS. An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This Determination of Non-Significance is issued under WAC 197-11-340. Because other agencies of jurisdiction may be involved, the lead agency will not act on this proposal for fourteen (14) days. Appeals of the environmental determination must be filed in writing on or before 5:00 p.m. on August 26, 2024.
