Taxiway A Rehabilitation and Associated Improvements, LUA24-000208, ECF
Dear Mr. Adams:
The Planning Division of the City of Renton accepted the above master application for review on July 5,
2024. Due to funding challenges associated with project, you have requested City review of the project
be temporarily placed on-hold pending additional conversations with the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA). The request submitted to the City is attached.
Therefore, at this time, your project has been placed “on hold” for a period of ninety (90) days. Please
contact me at amorganroth@rentonwa.gov or (425) 430-7219 if you have any questions or if you like
to proceed with review of the project. Review of the project will automatically resume after the ninety
(90) day period, unless otherwise requested.

The Airport and Design Team requests that the City pause the Taxiway A permitting work. We found out from the
FAA on 7/30/24 that the anticipated FY24 grant funds will not be awarded for the Phase 1 construction of the work.
It is unclear when FAA will come up with the funds to construct the work. After discussions with FAA on 8/6/24,
we’re hopeful that the project will receive FY25 and FY26 FAA grants to construct Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the work.
We will continue to keep City Permitting updated on next steps and when we need to re-engage the permit work for
the project.
