NARRATIVE
24-1300
On 02/05/2024 at approximately 1533 hours, I was dispatched to an unknown-if-injury vehicle
collision that occurred at the intersection of NE 4th Street and Monroe Ave NE, within the city limits of
Renton, County of King, Washington.
While en route, dispatch advised that both vehicles were blocking the intersection on NE 4th Street.
Upon arrival into the area, I did not locate a blocking vehicle collision at said intersection. Officer D.
Scott later informed me that she was flagged down in the 400 block of Queen Ave NE. The occupants
of one of the vehicles involved in the collision described above stated that they had tried following the
fleeing vehicle, but that it had fled northbound on Queen Ave NE.
I responded to Officer Scott's location where I contacted the involved vehicle who wished to report the
hit-and-run incident. I contacted the driver of the vehicle, Unit#2, who stated that he was not injured,
however, the passenger of Unit#2 was complaining of a shoulder injury but declined medical
response.
The driver of Unit#2 stated that prior to the collision, he was attempting to exit the private parking lot
at the Chevron, located on the SW corner of NE 4th Street and Monroe Ave NE. The driver of Unit#2
stated that he began making a right (eastbound) turn onto NE 4th Street. During the turn, the driver of
Unit#2 stated his vehicle was struck by Unit#1 which was eastbound on NE 4th Street just prior to
impact. Unit#1 was described as a 1990's green Ford Explorer with unknown plates. The driver of
Unit#2 described the driver of Unit#1 as a Hispanic female, in her late 40's, medium build with dark
straight hair in a ponytail, and wearing a green sweater.
The driver of U2 stated that following the collision, both drivers agreed to pull over into the Renton
Technical College parking lot. The driver of Unit#2 stated that instead of pulling over, Unit#1
continued eastbound onto NE 4th Street before making a northbound turn onto Queen Ave NE. The
driver of Unit#2 stated that he was not sure where the fleeing vehicle went from there.
U1 committed one (1) count of Hit-and-Run Attended by being involved in an accident with another
vehicle, which is attended, and failing to stop and remain at the scene until fulfilling all statutory duties
(provide name, address, insurance company, policy, vehicle license, exhibit driver's license and
render reasonable assistance to any person injured).
U2 was able to be driven away from the scene without further incident. An exchange of information
was provided to the driver of U2.
I certify (or declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the
foregoing is true and correct.
Electronically signed by Officer M. Nugent#11498 4:25 PM 2/5/2024 Renton, King County, WA.
